It is time for LSU Hockey

If we get a new Arena, put a hockey rink in it.
More entertaining then men’s basketball at LSU

Regardless, this is the 21st century. You don’t need the geography for hockey. You just have to want to play it and the dollars for an arena.
The real problem is no home ice in Baton Rouge. LSU club hockey and the Zydeco have to go to Lafayette to even practice.

Hockey would be too expensive. All of the ice making equipment isn't cheap or did you think they just turned down the AC?

I started watching hockey in the 80's and really enjoy it especially come Standley Cup playoffs time. (I grew up in the redneck South where we didn't even have soccer growing up, much less hockey. The closest ice rink was 100 miles away in Memphis.)
I'm just rambling, but I played intramural floor hockey one time in the old Field House (I think that's where). I got hit on the shin, and a knot the size of a golf ball immedately raised up. Then it went away a couple of minutes later. The other team had a big due from Montana, ND, or somewhere up there where they play hockey. He was maneuvering the ball whiile I was trying to get it away, and the butt end of his stick came within 2 inches of my nose. I said 'that's it' and checked out of the game. Thus endeth my hockey career.

LSU had a club hockey team about a decade ago and they were so bad that they quit on the season and forfeited the rest of their game.

The only place where hockey in general worked was in Lafayette and even that failed because the owners got greedy.
LSU hockey would be worse than some of our lowest attendance sports in general.
