Favorite (not necessarily best, but sometimes is)

1970 - Patton
1971- The Last Picture Show
1972 - The Godfather
1973 - too many to pick a single favorite - but probably Live and Let Die if had to name a single film
1974 - Blazing Saddles
1975 - Dog Day Afternoon
1976 - similar to 73 - tough, but Rocky is the placeholder here (ETA: Upon review, probably The Outlaw Josey Wales is the actual)
1977 - Star Wars (and damn that was a good year)
1978 - Animal House
1979 - Apocalypse Now!
