She’s the new LGBTQ+%¥]?,€ actor that Hollywood is promoting as the next coming and is worshipping. She was in Wicked.
She’s not that great. Arianna Grande was the star of that show but she’s like white-adjacent so they can’t fawn over her.

She is full white.
And also an incredibly huge star who gave the most acclaimed performance in that movie, and who has been thoroughly decorated for it.

Judas is the lead in JCS. Why wouldn’t she want that role?
So tired of stunt casting by gender and race.
Women actors always complain that there’s never good roles for men. Instead of creating them, they just beg to be cast in them.
When was the last time you heard about a male actor pining over playing Viola in Twelfth Night or Thelma and Louise? That’s right. They don’t. Not even most of the gay ones.

I could see her as a black Count Orlok, but that's about it. Her being Jesus is disgusting

I can't see her being Jewish. Maybe a carpenter, but not Jewish.

Hollyweird is so out of touch with normal people.

This is just a play, no? Not sure that counts as Hollywood.
I really don’t care what those freaks do with their self serving stage circlejerks that no one sees

Carl Anderson was Judas when the traveling trope came to BR in the 90s or so. He was fighting leukemia and was unable to the performance we attended. I saw JCS at the River Center in the 90s and Independence hall in the 70s.

Garbage I will never see or even think about.
That bitch is ugly and thinks she’s all that.

We’ve already had this thread.
It’s a cool musical that’s not exactly a religious experience. By the end, you don’t know if Jesus is Devine or just nutty - and there is no resurrection in the broadway and traveling version. The parts of Judas, Herod, and Pilate are coveted roles.
Like I said in the other thread, the role of Jesus is very challenging vocally - you need to reach some very high notes - and that’s sometimes used as an excuse to give the role to a woman (though we know it is for shock). Man, you have to hit some killer notes in that thing - impossible for most men.
The best part of it is the killer music and the guitarist(s) in the pit - that’s a sought-after role as well.
Women have played the role before, so have many blacks people and btw, it’s freakin’ musical theatre. I hate to tell you but 75% of the performers in any musical, anywhere, at anytime, are gay.
