Nixon took us off the gold standard back in the 70's so our paper currency is no longer backed by gold. I assume that some click baiter created an irrelevant visual basically saying gold would have be valued at over 300k per oz for the US to have enough gold to exchange for the amount of cash in circulation.

Don’t know, but maybe this type of currency?

quote:

$287.00 These Nevada Goldback foil notes contain 1/20 oz of .999 fine Gold which is the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical Gold. Libertas, or Liberty, the capstone Virtue design of each U.S.-based Goldback series, makes her second appearance here under a starry Nevada night sky. Here, in the peaks of the Sierra Nevada’s, she is depicted as biblical Eve, mother of the human race, patterned somewhat after a statue of Aphrodite from Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. She is championed here by the artist as a symbol of the biblical story about a free woman who exercised her agency and power of choice to bring about the human race. What it means in simplified terms, is they are hinting Trump wants to get back to the gold standard so they can't cheat us anymore. It would basically turn off the printing press and make the Federal Reserve irrelevant.

Our money would be backed by something real, not this made up Monopoly money we have now.

Never should have abandoned it. Backing currency with physical gold was better than backing it with national equity.

People are going to be pissed though, when they find out the physical gold is no longer there. China, in particular, is going to have a hell of a lot of questions.

No, "paper gold" as in buying gold as an investment (401k, etc) , but not actually having the physical gold in your possession.

I wonder what gold prices would do if congress passed a balanced budget amendment?

Or maybe talking about the number of outstanding gold certificates?

quote:

1922 $20 GOLD CERTIFICATE - LAST OF THE LARGE SIZE NOTES The last of the Large Size Gold Certificates printed in 1922. These notes were payable "IN GOLD COIN" on demand, and represents the last of the large gold certificates. This note was made illegal to own when Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt signed the Gold Reserve Act of 1933. The restriction on ownership of these beautiful notes was lifted in 1964. These notes are becoming more scarce by the day - Get Yours Today!

I think they are adding up all the etfs like GLD together and comparing those to the physical gold stores.

Paper gold isn't gold, its just buying and selling the market price of gold. No one buys paper gold expecting to paid out in gold.

The 8100 tons of gold that the US claims to have however, that is the real question. Do we actually have it or is that number greatly inflated?

The Rockefellers, Rothchilds and Israelis are going to be really pissed if Trump moves us to a gold standard.

It means gold is being leveraged 128 to 1. A lot of people have gold certificates, not physical gold, in their portfolios. They are going to be extremely disappointed when everyone tries to cash out at once.

Why the frick would you care what some dumb arse Anon Bots on X are engagement farming about.

Some of you boomers are god damn retards and need to take Internet 101, 2025 edition.

I mean seriously, what the frick is wrong with you?

Does Chicken pay you or something? Probably 75% of your thread starts are retarded shite like this.

While Barron spams, at least he just reposts tweets from an actual human who larps as a reporter.

And KJ in St K spams a bunch of Q adjacent shite but at least it is mostly from reliable people.

You on the other hand almost exclusively post random shite from random Anons that is mostly shite too stupid for even 4chan.

Get a fricking grip on yourself brah.

paper gold is just like bitcoin imo. Its only worth something if other people are willing to buy it at x price. If everyone wanted to sell it at the same time, the value goes to zero.

I have been hearing allegations that all of the gold at fort Knox has been stolen for decades!

When I was a young I use to blow it off as BS just like I used to blow off the we went to war in Vietnam so the MIC could make money.
