Given the circumstances, the job wasn't the most highly attractive and most think it's going to take at least a few years to remake the roster with limited resources to do it quickly. The Saints could have gone with a more veteran retread, but he probably wouldn't have been as willing to fully embrace a rebuild. The trend has been young "offensive" HCs seem to perform better if you are going to hire a 1st time HC. His hire will at least give the team/fans some hope for a brighter future vs. an older retread whose ceiling is already known.

7 seems about right.

I expected a 2

8-9 under the circumstances. We’re a very unattractive job right now that only really has “patient owner” and 1/32 jobs going for it.

I think any of these young OCs (Johnson, Coen, Moore, even Brady) could be successful under the right circumstances. Moore was my third favorite of that group behind Johnson and Coen but he could just as easily end up being the top guy from them.

7 or 8 probably.

Only others I would have really liked would have been Ben Johnson, Mike McCartney or maybe Aaron Glenn.

I’m excited for Allen to be gone and have the Saints headed in a new direction!

I think Moore and Johnson have a lot to prove. Both had some really unbelievable talent to work with esp on the oline. That won't be the case this season.

That’s why I like Coen so much. Seems very attentive to O line dominance. In addition to improving Baker significantly he turned that running game into a monster.

If you redid the coaching cycle now, Moore would be the the third hottest name after Johnson and Vrabel. Not that the rest of the crop wasn’t fairly equal anyway

My only concern with Moore is superficial, just seems too damn nice.

Otherwise it's an excellent, not safe, boom or bust, hire of a young coach. Which is exactly what I was hoping they'd shoot for.

When they hired Payton, Jim Fassel was in the running. I'm so pleased they went the unknown Payton route and the not the safe re-tread approach.

8. Pretty much everyone here wanted a young offensive guy after Allen was fired and most knew we were not getting Ben Johnson. I personally did not want to go the defensive route again like Glenn. After this run he’s had the last two months you could make an argument he would pretty much be tied with Vrabel after BJ for hottest names on the market.

I’m giving it a 10. When it all works out, I’ll crow. If it doesn’t, I’ll eat crow.

I’ve decided to be extremely positive this go round. I was extremely negative when DA was hired as head coach and actively campaigned for his firing.

The one benefit to our complete shitshow of a salary cap situation is that we will likely have to field a team of many rookies and low-priced veterans.. So Moore should be able to try to install his 'system' without push back from overpriced veterans

I give it a 7. Bringing in Staley as the DC i would give it an overall 8. I think thats a great combo.

7 without considering the prospects of the job.

If you consider how shitty a situation this team is in and grade based on what proper expectations should be.... I'd say 9.5

I'm quite surprised they were able to convince him to come here.

It's practically a 10 considering how bleak things looked for a while there. I'm so happy.

Pendulum said exactly how I feel in the post above me.
