California leading the way to let boys compete in girls sports. I am thinking this would leave the state open to some pretty major lawsuits

Hit them where it hurts the most. In the pocket book. They damn sure would do it to a red state.

Lawsuit is what California wants so they can challenge whether the EO is constitutional in the hopes of overturning it nationally.

Same as Mississippi did with the abortion law. They baited the the abortion rights groups into suing over an individual state’s actions and it resulted in Roe v Wade being overturned.

We will see how much all of these groups love their illegals when the money dries up.

So they are defying a EO and risk losing federal funding.....
Didn't Newsome just meet with Trump asking for money regarding the fires????
California should be expelled from the US.

I hope more of them do. This is a 90/10 issue in favor of Trumps order. This kind of thing will guarantee us a victory in the mid terms.

This is another of those 80 / 20 issues that our Daddy uses as a cudgel against filth like VOR.

I think that this would be welcomed by the DoJ because ultimately it would cement the fact that there are only two genders and protect women. You may get some whack job lower court rulings but at the higher level courts common sense would win out!

It's going to be wild when Pacific Coast University fields a womens team with all men and a mens' team with all women. Only then will the lefties really get the tingles in their spines they seek...

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 requires schools to provide equal athletic opportunities for girls and boys. This includes high schools, which receive federal funding.

If they receive federal funds then they must follow Title IX or lose those funds.

As written by congress Title IX protects "girls" Thrumps executive order clarifies that the Executive Branch believes a female at birth is a girl and thus the DOJ would interpret Title IX the same. so i would assume the DOJ would file a lawsuit on behalf of Title IX. which would then go through the court system

Totally against what California wants to do, but the 10th Amendment allows them to do so, correct? It would take a Supreme Court decision to override this. Correct ?

* I'm not talking about getting federal funding removed, I'm just wondering if a state has a right to do so , if they want to.

Didn’t Louisiana stop receiving federal funding to an extent over the legal drinking age of 18?

I agree, but I don't think it's going to turn out like they are hoping it will.

EO's are basically the President telling the rest of the Executive Branch how to interpret laws and what they should be focusing on.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi is withholding $15 Billion of federal funds which accounts for over a third of the state's revenue of
Massachusetts if the Commonwealth uses its sanctuary policy to interfere with ICE deportation.

Bondi v. Healy
