1.Turbotax
2. H&R Block
3. Other
4. None of the above

I've always been a turbotax guy, but I'm willing to take advice of other options.

Admins: if this is better suited for the Money Talk board, go ahead and move it. TIA

I do both Turbo and H&R and just see which one gives me the best outcome.

I don't know why, but they always give me different results for the exact same info.

I just use IRS fillable forms; online account with the irs where you pull all the forms and schedules you need and fill them out and submit.. You have to do your research, but it's terribly hard to do your taxes yourself especially if you don't have a ton of deductions.

Not a self-preparer, but

I get pissed off, aggravated, and annoyed, if that helps...

I was curious about this since I'm no longer a 1099. I'd love to find a good alternative to H&R Block and TurboTax.

I used Turbo Tax for years, but their price kept going up. Been using H&R Block for like 5 years now, works fine. Costs me about $20 a year.

I use TurboTax. Importing my previous returns and W2s is a time saver, but the cost is exorbitant for the actual service. Now, it probably has more value to morons that couldn't figure out the forms otherwise. For me, I'm just paying for the submission service.

I used TaxSlayer for years, but I switched to TurboTax three or four tax seasons ago. Cannot recall why I switched but I do know that TurboTax is infinitely better.

Already got my federal refund posted to my bank account on January 28.

For the vast majority of people who just have a couple W-2s and a couple tax credits like child care, you have to be a moron to not understand how the forms work.
