I'll root for the man. Hopefully his demons are behind him and he continues to succeed.

That's going to be a disaster.

He's got a pretty good argument to being a huge factor in 8 national championships and 50 first round draft picks. And he obviously knows how to develop athletes as well as anyone. Both of these things should help in recruiting. He might need help with the X's and O's, which don't have to be the responsibility of the head coach.
Most likely this is a stepping stone for him back into the top of college football as an elite assistant if he can stay sober.

Should have stayed on as a strength coach. That’s who he is and he got paid well.

The whole reason he left Alabama was he wanted to be an on field coach and eventually a head coach and Saban didn't think he was ready to be an actual coach.

I heard him speak at a coaching clinic once. He’s a big personality, as we all know. If that translates into recruiting more talented players than his competitors that is most of the battle at any level. If he can get good coordinators to do the actual coaching, then he should be fine.

Missed it… what demons? Roids, alcohol, drugs? I’m always rooting for a redemption story.

Bad bad opioid addiction.

Damn!!! Good for him to get a new lease on life. I’ve had too many friends who’ve died from it.

Yea seriously it’s an epidemic. Hopefully he has himself together and does great. Hats off to him for being resilient

Anyone against this kind of second chance needs to do a hard self check.
Every fricking one of us has had demons to battle, some more difficult than others.
Any man hard and humble enough to own the crash and be open and honest about it, especially as public as Cochran has been has the courage we should all aspire to have.
My nephew played at Alabama during the early Saban glory years. He's very honest about the fact that Scott Cochran prepared him for everything that the Army Ranger school had to throw at him.
I'm wishing Cochran nothing but the best in life.

He’s already hiring a few former Alabama players. Rumors about Pruitt coming in as well.

Unless his next hires are deer antler spray and roids he gonna fail! Cheater just like his buddy saban taught him to be!

Super proud of Scott, was a classmate of his at Curtis and then at LSU too. He's had some demons, but has taken that big first step in admitting and recognizing his addiction. He's been helping others with addiction problems over the last couple of years. One day at a time Scott, I'm rooting for you.
