You can definitely find some “boudi” in New Orleans. Quality is subjective.

You're in the wrong part of the state for boudin.

Best bet is to go to Cochon The Butcher and pay $9 for a link

It’s decent but better than anywhere around here.

It's a little extra driving but go up I-55 to Ronnie's in Hammond.

I've picked up some from him at the farmers market. There is a lot of love for his boudin but I didn't care for it personally.

As previously, go to Rouses. Anything from east of the Atchafalaya River, pass on it. Look for Billy’s, Best Stop, Kartchner’s, Savoie’s, etc. Basically, Krotz Springs to Jennings down south to Lafayette area.

Chris' Specialty Meats keeps hot boudin. I get it for lunch from time to time. But yeah best stop at Rouses is probably better and easier to take home.

They are "Stupid Expensive" in my opinion. I had left PT for an ankle surgery I'm recovering from last Monday and went to Chris's on Harrison Ave. to see about getting the wife a pack of 1 dozen beef hot tamales for a treat.

Last time I got them was about 3 months ago and they were $17----which I thought high. They didn't have any beef tamales in the store but did see chicken tamales and they were-----------ready for this---------$25 a dozen.

With beef prices higher than chicken prices, I'd hate to think what they are getting for them.

But riverside in plaquemine I'll put against just about anyone.

Gonzo's brisket boudin in Luling is really good. Be prepared to stand in a long line to get in, but it is worth the wait.

If you have time to drive to Thibodaux I would highly recommend going to Bourgeois meat market. I grew up about 10 miles from there and I personally blame them for me being a fat arse. Best boudin I have ever eaten.

I love Ronnie’s smoked boudin in Baron Rouge. It has a great kick to it and just the right amount of smokiness
