According to Evan Sidery Hornets are interested

If I’m the Pels I’d be all over this. I’d ask for Brandon Miller and multiple first round picks for them to have Zion.

I would trade Zion for that package.

Too bad Hornets wouldn’t.

They would probably only offer miles bridges and grant williams and picks.

They would want to have the 3 of Lamelo, Miller, and Zion together.

Maybe you could get mark Williams

Do it in the offseason:

2025 1st round pick (Hope its Harper and we get Flagg)
2026 1st round pick
2027 1st round pick (best of the 3 they own)
2028 1st round swap
Miles Bridges
Mark Williams

PG: Harper/Alvarado/Murray[whenever]
SG: McCollum/Jones
SF: Murphy/Bridges
PF: Flagg/[TBD]
C: Williams/Missi

That's a core to build around.

Lets just get crazy.

Detroit: Miles Bridges, CJ McCollum, Garret Temple

Charlotte: Zion Williamson, Tobias Harris

Toronto: Brandon Ingram

NOLA: Grant Williams, Brandon Miller, Isiah Stewart, RJ Barret, THJ, shitload of picks

They don’t have a 2025 first. They also are iffy about being able to trade their own first for a few years because they have other teams’ protected firsts.

if im reading this correctly, if charlottes pick lands in the top 14 this year (it will) then they get to keep it and the spurs will then get their pick in 2026.

so I think we could get their pick this year and then 2027 as well. couldn't get 2026 regardless if they owned it or not.

That would mean they can’t trade the 2025 pick then because of the Stepien rule.

Not that any of this matters, we aren’t trading Zion any more than they are trading Ball.

Yes they do. It’s top 14 protected to Spurs, and that sure as hell isn’t conveying. It’s turns into a ‘26 and ‘27 2nd.

I’d trade Zion to them right now for Bridges, Mark Williams and their 2025 1st, ‘26 pick swap and 27 first.
I honestly wouldn’t care about what else is included as long as Mark Williams and the ‘25 1st comes back.

Sorry, serves me right for not checking the info, but turns into second round picks. They could then trade their first.

Weird quirk to this is it could help our pick both by making us much worse as well as maybe helping Charlotte win some games.

Yeah a Zion trade would be something that happens in the off-season when teams draft capital is clear what they have available and the value of the pick

Man I remember when this board raved how Zion was way better than AD, now you want him gone while Lakers land Luka.

How were we supposed to know Zion had the work ethic of Eddie Curry

By watching him before he came to the Pelicans. He was so overhyped then got the injury when his shoe blew out. Just so much confidence by this fan base he was going to be great.
