Dejounte officially tore his Achilles. He’ll be out probably most if not all of next year.

This team is cursed. Tear it down and tank

Always said the next two drafts have quality players in the lottery. We haven’t done anything with these guys in the last 5 years and I don’t see it getting any better. Blow it up. Build around Trey

Just sell the team and have it move already. It’s coming. We all know it.

Downvote me all you want but you know it’s true. I’ve fought this for a while and have argued many irl (I have a pelicans pennant hanging in my classroom in Kansas) that have told me the team should move. I took a year long ban for a Chris Paul leaving meltdown. I want nothing more than for the Pels to work in New Orleans. This year has broken me. It’s never going to work here.

Build around Trey, Z, Missi, and Herb. Hope we get top 3 in the lottery, add that stud. Hopefully Dejounte is able to recover and still have some good ball ahead of him. What’s gonna determine where this team goes is the lottery and what Griff is able to turn BI/CJ into.

we should we expect that to go any differently than what’s happened with the last 3 “franchise changing” players?

To be fair, CP3 had us on the precipice, but ownership, along with Kobe peak, young Lebron, and Spurs dynasty all prevented us from getting to the top.

We were also close with AD, but we had the Boogie injury and a KD Warriors to deal with.

We weren’t even close this time around, but let’s not act like AD and CP3 era’s weren't at least moderate successes.

Zion era is a different animal. He’s a bottom 1% tier franchise nba player due to a variety of unsolvable issues. On the bright side, we are unlikely to make the same mistake again, especially if we axe Griff and Co before the next rebuild.

I’ve never understood people arguing for this. If you don’t want to support the team, then just don’t. Nobody is forcing you to. Moving the team does what exactly for you personally?

I'm a fan of the team, but I'm not personally tied to New Orleans or Louisiana that much anymore. So it doesn't really matter to me where they are located. I can still watch them wherever they play. The most important thing, for future success, is for them to get the best owners and leaders. The ones we have now do not care about basketball and are floundering. We will never succeed with our current regime, other than by pure luck.

If we found an amazing new group to purchase the team that wanted to invest in NO and build a great infrastructure for the organization, then awesome. I'd love that for the city and all fans. But it doesn't seem probable at this point. It will probably be an outside group and other markets want a team. It will take more than to retain the team than hope and guilt. The team is a business and is not owned/tied to the city permanently. To keep them, they need to be swayed, and that means a new arena, facilities, and the media capabilities to reach a wider audience. No organization wants to just get by..

Ummm, what do you think current ownership has been doing?

Millions of dollars have been invested in new practice facilities, cafeterias, workout rooms, scouting, FO personnel, medical staff, etc. all stuff that we never had before.

There’s also discussions on a new arena or completely redoing SKC once the superdome renovations are complete.

I swear some of you live with your head in your arse

Next season is over already. With an Achilles tear on the last day of January, Dejounte will more than likely be out until at least the all star break of next year. He won’t be back to near 100% until 2026-2027, if ever. Dejounte now has the same injury history as Klay Thompson having suffered both an Achilles tendon rupture and ACL rupture.

Just an absolutely devastating injury for an absolutely cursed franchise.

Zion is the biggest problem with our roster construction. You have to move on from Zion if you ever want to win.

I don't think current ownership cares about the team, other than for clout. We have horrible management that is bloated and directionless. Our record and reputation supports this.

Wow. A multi billion dollar organization investing in itself. How do all these "upgrades" improve our franchise? I can see the results in our team health. You do realize we have one of the weakest, poorly conditioned and injury prone teams in the league, don't you?

One of the worst Arenas in the league, with torn mismatched seats. It'll take years to update and they are already behind.

But I'll let you educate me. Does it get approved this year?

Literally the worst ownership and management in the league, but you defend it. Even better a ton of people seem to agree with you, that everything is great. Then you wonder why we never get better. Yet I'm the one that oblivious? It's ironic..
