Haven’t really been playing games in a couple of years, but since toddler is on a better schedule I’ve been playing a little bit at night.

Just went to put on my turtle beaches and they snapped as I put them over my head. Wtf this is the second pair that has done this (first pair lasted for almost 10 years. This one not even 2).

Any good wireless headset recs that’s doesn’t cost a fortune since I do not play video games like I use to?

Do headsets now work on different consoles?

Turtle Beach is dogshit, do not buy anything from them

For $100, you aren't beating this set. Stellar sound and mic quality. PC37X

If you're dead set on wireless, you'll have to up your budget to $175-200. Go with Arctis Pros

Some do, some don't

Bought the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P for my son to use which has a small USB-C dongle that allows him to play on the PC, Switch and PS5 but doesn't work with the Xbox. I "borrow" them from time to time and the sound quality is awesome, just wish there was a better way to gauge the battery levels in these headsets.

SHP posted below for open back, I prefer closed back myself. I think mine are the H6Pros?

Just went to Arctis Nova 7x (pretty sure) since i needed one that does Xbox and PC...Not 100% happy that I still have to change the dongle (too lazy to blutooth them atm) but the sound quality is great and people have commented already that the mic sounds fantastic..

Got them on sale at BBuy for around 150 this week

I can barely hear shite because of decades of too loud metal, but I like the cheapo Arctis (Nova 1, $59) and they've done me well on PC. I ditched my speakers for the same reason (babies), and haven't gone back.

I have Steel series artic nova pro and I think they're great. I've had cheap Astros that worked and the Walmart Rigs that worked great but didn't last.

I tried the Phillips but didn't like them.

Generally opened back is better for gaming, but it all depends on your environment

Disagree now. I’ve had stealth 700 gen 3s for awhile now and they’ve been a top tier headset.

I’ve had sennheiser 58x, Phillips shp, Astro a50s for trial, these 700s, and a few other higher end sets.

The 700s have great features and do very well in imaging when you put on the EQ. The ability to swap from pc to xbox with a button is great.

They are closed back and heavier than my others but are still very nice.

A50s were good but had a constant buzzing and bad software. Steelseries mic sounded like shite.

Better for immersion but I’d say worse for FPS

This is probably not a good option for most but wanted to put this out there for anyone that it would work for.

I love video games but never play online. I've been having issues with my sound being too loud for the house at night if I want to watch an action movie or a loud game. I was looking for a good headset that would allow me to switch between my PS5, XBOX and Apple TV box. Having a mic to be able to talk during online games is of no value to me but is probably important to most. I also wanted very good sound quality with good spatial audio.

I have a Sonos system that everything runs through and I recently bought the Sonos Ace headset. With the click of a button on the headset I can change the audio from going through my speakers to coming through my headphones. And the noise cancelling is very good.

This has been a game changer for me. It's not cheap for a pair and you need to already be in the Sonos system for these to be the best option. But it's easy and quick to switch to and the battery life is very good. Sound quality is very good and maybe a small step below the Air Pods Max. I do not play any online games so I don't know if you can use these to talk to other players during a game.

You get a wider soundstage with open back cans, which makes directional audio clearer/better. But if you live in a noisy environment, closed backs are definitely better.

Sounds has been very good and really easy to use.

this is why I switched years ago from tb to astro trs. Great sound but made very flemsy and must of broke 3/4 tb headsets. Astro tr's are very durable, have never cracked or broke and have decent sound.

Yeah I switched to open back a few years ago (Senn HD 6XX). I drive them with a dedicated DAC and headphone amp (Schiit) and was a big upgrade over my old setup.
