Conceal gun for the Wife

Looking to get my wife (no pic) a new conceal carry. I bought her a M&P Shield 9mm that she initally liked but she wants something smaller now. Any recommendations for a compact carry that is reliabe. I was thinking some sort of .380. TIA

Wife no pics , carries a ruger lcp in a pocket holster in her yoga pants, I some times put it in my front jeans pocket if going out and need to wear a tucked shirt.
It’s snappy with a long hard trigger pull but it definitely has been reliable and trouble free.

I second the LCP.
Snappy yes, concealable in a pocket? Yes.

S&W Bodyguard 2.0 is way beyond the LCP & Glock 42. Great little pistol with Underwood Xtreme Defender ammo.

My wife looooves her Canik MC9

Canik MC9 is the smoothest shooting subcompact 9mm out there.
For a small belly gun that’ll fit in a pocket or purse, Ruger LCR is perfect. But you know small revolvers are harder to shoot well. But it’s small and reliable.

Glock is a terrible recommendation.

Walther PPK or Keltec P-32 or NAA Guardian 32acp or similar. Go to a gun range and rent them and shoot them. If they are too snappy you might have to get a 22 but that’s still better than nothing.

My wife loves her shield 9. Has been carrying and shooting it for about 6 years. Won’t carry anything else.
Let your lady grab onto a few different handguns and see what fits her best. Maybe let her blow some rounds through a few. I initially bought her a ruger lc380 and she “liked it” but it was somewhat snappy. She’ll stack rounds with the shield with the best of them though.

Kimber Micro Raptor .380.
Bought one for my 5’ tall 105 lbs mom. Fits her hands. Recoil isn’t bad. Can put in your pocket.

Try to find a gun range that allows rentals. If you're in Baton Rouge check out FRC on Choctaw as they have a Thursday night ladies night with free rentals.
Guns are like shoes - best to try before you buy. Everyone has shoes that stay in their closet and never get worn because they didn't fit right.

I would love to see real reasons why.
Are there guns that have more updated features? Sure. But Glocks are comfortable guns that just work.
As far as a conceal carry for the wife, I'd still lean towards 9mm since there are so many subcompact options with decent capacity now. Let her put her hands on a few and see what she likes. I personally hated my Ruger LC9. It's the only gun I've ever sold. If you don't enjoy shooting it, you won't practice with it. And you need to be practicing regularly if you carry.

You, downshift, have a 380?
