re: What is your conceal carry ?

I bought a Kahr CM9 a few years ago and have never regretted it. Not sure why this gun doesn't get more attention.
I hope you don't have daughters. If you do, God help them.

That what I pay for DirecTV. 105 a month and get way more channels. Wever basically came full circle now where cable seems like a reliable option again.

Last I heard Fox and NBC channels in Baton Rouge were still not in DTV . Contact expired a few years ago and I dropped DTV after about 90 days of it.

Doesn’t really make sense that the governor gets to appoint all members of the board of supervisors.

It goes back to the days of Huey Long. Long wanted full control of the state so he installed various boards and commissions to oversee key areas of government with the members appointed by the governor. That way he had indirect control over the outcomes.

Unfortunately many areas of state government are still run that way.
Hayes was the commander of the Enterprise when they did the first test flight launch from the 747. Saw him years ago at Stennis. He said it was one of the smoothest flying aircraft he'd piloted.

Don't forget Doohan's son playing Scotty - he was awesome. The Romulan commander was played by the daughter of the original actress.

Have you seen Star Trek Continues on YouTube? If not, you really need to check it out. They have a lot of videos but the actual episodes are easy to pick out. Timeline is between the end of season 3 and the start of ST:TMP. Very well done with the sets perfectly reproduced (be sure to watch the set walkthrough video).

Guest stars included Lou Ferrigno, Marina Sirtis, John Delancy, and Michael Forest reprising his role as Apollo.

re: Anyone own a Ruger LCR? Thoughts?

Posted by Lsuham on 6/3/25 at 6:39 pm to
Wife has one and loves it. She tried the Smith 637, Taurus snub, and the Ruger LCR when making her decision. The Hogue grip the LCR comes with made the difference with control and recoil. Also helps prevent bite in the webbing area between the thumb and finger. Trigger is very smooth with a clean break.

The LCR will shoot any 38 round without issues - the Smith and Taurus do not recommend hotter loads due to frame design limitations. Not an issue with Ruger. That may not matter right now but if ammo gets scarce again you'll have more options with Ruger.

1984 Colt Python 6"
1979 Smith Model 27 6"
We were watching the judges for each event and a .1 - .15 difference between judges was common. One was pretty much on the money but the other was consistently low. It was bad for both teams but that doesn't help standings.

Examples:
Ballard on beam 9.9 and 9.8
Same judge tanked Haley's routine - I don't remember the scores but they were off.
Brock on floor 9.9 and 9.85
Drayton on floor 9.95 and 9.85
I don't remember the scores on Fennigan's floor routine but one charged her with going out when the replay showed she wasn't fully over the line.

9.9 and 9.8 seemed to be the judges' go to score as those were very common.

The just goes on. I know judges see different things but when this is consistent all night on BOTH teams, there's a problem.
Was probably the worst scored meet we've ever had. More than 50% of the time there was .1 difference between the 2 event judges (for both pairs of judges). We've been season ticket holders for 12 years and have never seen this year's judges before. Used to be a rotation of experienced judges but now it's like rookie of the week.
King Cobra is the smaller frame. If that's acceptable, don't rule out the Ruger SP101. I have the 4" and 2". Add the Pachmyr diamond grips and it fits like a glove.

686 and GP100 is just a preference thing. I like the action and the fit of my 686 in my hand better but the Ruger is a much better gun. It can repetitively shoot the Buffalo Bore loads so it's you want to play with high powered ammo then the Ruger is it.

Try to find a gun range that allows rentals. If you're in Baton Rouge check out FRC on Choctaw as they have a Thursday night ladies night with free rentals.

Guns are like shoes - best to try before you buy. Everyone has shoes that stay in their closet and never get worn because they didn't fit right.

They started running them the day after Biden dropped out. Strange how they got the commercials filmed and the advertising space set up at fast... Right?
I highly recommend the book "Rawhide Down". The author is the SS agent that pushed Reagan in the car, discovered he was hit, have the order to go to the hospital, and stayed with him until surgery started. Excellent book - you'll not want to put it down.
Yep. They put the screws to DEMCO about 2 years ago on the electricity DEMCO was buying from them. Our rates doubled because CLECO shifted their hurricane storm damage over to us. DEMCO found another electricity source and allowed the CLECO contract to expire this year.

This was all predictable 2 years ago when it went down.

PSC is a joke.

Kentucky Gun Company

Last few purchases were not taxed and shipping was free.
I'm addition to facility issues, Pat Henry also watched Pokey get promoted with a salary much higher than his, even though he had a room full of NC trophies. I think that pushed it over the top for him.

Mine did that recently. 2016 with the 2.7. Ended up being the valve body in the transmission. They're known for valve body issues.

You getting an engine light as well? Mine would also random shift. Wouldn't start one day because it thought it was in drive.
Ironically, for one year in the 60s, Gainesville High had 5 future R&R Hall of Famers enrolled:

Steven Stills - Crosby Stills Nash
Bernie Leadon - Eagles
Don Felder - Eagles
Tommy Petty
Tom Leadon - Heartbreakers

Can't deny that's pretty awesome. Felder taught guitar lessons at the local music shop and Petty was one of his students.
