I remember earlier in his career he basically said he’d do the rom coms for a nice payday so he could then take a year off or so at a time and explore his other interests. I’m sure this is similar.

The movie biz has changed dramatically so these big time actors are paying bills any way they can.

Meh,all the actors I mentioned are worth tens of millions.Dont think they need to "pay the bills" as much as an easy payday and doing commercials isn't frowned upon like it used to be.

Yes I'm aware of all that and a lot of time Hollywood was doing Ads in Japan because they felt semi-anonymous
my comment was more to the point that McConaughey's ads are actually pretty good

I enjoy them.
The Ditka/Bears guy is my favorite. Also like the “Jerry’s eating rice…” one.

His chemistry with Kate Hudson is off the chart.

His book was worth the read.

I thought the Uber Eats commercial was kinda lame. There’s not really that many food related terms in football. He mentions “pancake” blocks and “turnovers”. And then the Jerry “Rice” joke at the end- the whole spot was just corny, not that clever.
Did you catch that? “corny” lol.

After I’d seen it about 30 times, not really paying much attention, I didn’t know what it was advertising until I read an article about how dumb it was.

Keeps the lights on.
Now that Texas is in the SEC the cost of premium seating at football games has gone way up.

A "movie star" doing a TV show was considered to be a huge demotion and them trying to salvage a career
Now they are all doing it
Now they are all doing it

They’re quick, easy and good money.
They’re a good deal for a working actor.

I hate him for the silliest of reasons I'll admit, but I stand strong with my hate

Not really. A-Listers did plenty of advertisements. But.... they were outside of the Country. Pre-internet so it was harder to find them but they absolutely advertised.
