How did Cam bring Auburn a title in 2010 but Jayden couldn’t do it at LSU in 2023?

Neither QB had that good of a team around him, but I would say Auburn’s defense was a bit better.

Auburn at least had a few dogs on defense like Nick Fairley, Josh Bynes, and Zac Etheridge.

Meanwhile, LSU had Maason Smith, Greg Penn, and Sage Ryan.

It really sucks that we missed out on such a golden opportunity in 2023 because of Matt House and his awful defense.

I think you answered your own question.

The Auburn defense was a beast in 2010

Their defense in 2010, while not being great, was remarkably better than LSUs last year. It's not a sexy answer but it is the answer.

2010 Auburn allowed less pts per game, allowed less rushing yards per game, allowed less yards per game, committed less penalties per game and had more takeaways.

I'm sure everyone has responded in kind but Auburn had a really good defense.

It's almost as if there are different variables involved in the different seasons: Different players, opponents, coaches, locations, weather, injuries, referees, etc.

Auburn won games 17-15, 24-17, 22-19

their defense really wasn’t bad.

our was horrific. I thjnk we gave up 40+ in every game we lost.

Auburn's defense was closer to LSU's 2019 Defense than LSU's 2023 Defense. Much closer, depending on what metric you want to use.

LSU lost games putting up 45+ points.

Auburn defense was pretty good actually. It was also just a different era in football, and Cam really complimented the style of football of the time. There were a lot of pocket QBs and game managers that won the title ahead of Tebow/Cam.
