I don't have and never plan to have an account. My wife has an account and gets recipes and other crap from it. Is it truly the Ownership that makes it bannable?

I've heard, "they collect users' data and CCP shouldn't be allowed to do that". I think every other app collects the same data and sells it to whomever wants to buy it, be it State Farm or the CCP.

So, for those that are more knowledgeable on this subject. Why exactly is TT banned?

Connection to China and exploitation of data is what is talked about. The likely true reason is that our govt doesn't feel it can exploit all that data itself, and control TikTok as it can control a US company.

Since its Chinese owned, the FBI and CIA don't have backdoors into it. Also tiktok allows criticism of Israel and anti jewish content in general, plus pro hamas/muslim terrorism content, which US politicians don't like. Especially the anti Israel stuff.

There is a lot of good content on Tik Tok mixed with a fair amount of Chinese propaganda directed towards an American audience.

This.

In China, users younger than like 17 have their content controlled and are subjected to science and math content rather than the dumbed down stuff our generations are addicted to.

I believe it was 2019 (or there about) when the Pentagon tried to ban it from use by military personnel, and was advising to delete the app from phones.

A whole bunch of young women are having withdrawals from TikTok right now. The creators will have to get real jobs now.

Question about this Tik Tok ban..
There

is

no

US TikTok

ban

unless China bans it!

The ban is directed at the CCP, not TikTok.

The US requires TikTok divest from the CCP (ByteDance).
THAT IS NOT A BAN OF TIKTOK!

The only way TikTok gets banned is if the CCP decides not to divest interest in something it claims to have no involvement with.

Not about China. The push to ban it came when vast anounts of users were taking calling what Isreal was doing "genocide"

100% False.
China (The CCP) is literally the ONLY thing it is about.

The ONLY requirement is CCP divestiture of TikTok.

There is no antisemitic content clause. There is no AIPAC affiliation clause. There is no TikTok must be sold to the Jeeews clause. Just a requirement that TikTok divest entirely from the CCP

Whats hilarious for as much as we heard during the trial/hearings about TikTok not being CCP and Singaporian, why are Trump and others talking to "China" about the app and its future

Why. not Singapore... hmmm

btw, I couldn't give two shits less about TikTok, its a drag on society,, but we should be wary on this type of censorship.

Reason eleventy billion why our yutes brains are fried and we suck at math and science now.

Meanwhile, China is training an army of yutes to become more educated and nationalist.

You heard many things.
You heard CV19 did not come from a Wuhan Lab.
You heard Twitter was not cooperating/coordinating with the government during the 2020 election.
You heard Hunter's Laptop was Russian disinformation.
You heard wearing a cloth Washington Nationals mask would help fight CV19.
You heard mandating the CV19 vax for kids under an EUA was justified.
Etc.

If anyone chose to believe TikTok was not CCP affiliated, they were probably on board with those other things they heard
