Looking for wader recommendations for deer hunting. I normally use hip boots but sometimes I have to use waders. Currently have neoprene waders and I sweat like crazy in them. I used a pair of drake waders a few times before buying the neoprene and felt like it was too baggy, stayed soaking wet ( like heavy), and was loud.

Any good breathable waders out there that fit snug, don’t soak in a lot of water, and are somewhat quiet?

Suck it up and get Sitka or Chene. Layer underneath for warmth.

I wasted $300/year for many years. Love my Sitkas.

I’ve been hunting flooded rice fields for 40yrs, love waist waders, either neoprene or “breathable” fabrics. They wear more like pants(the insulated waders obviously wear bulkier), and I can “vent” for comfort much more easily.

I ran across Paramount Waders recently. They look pretty well cut. May fit what you need.

Some guides in Oklahoma said the Chenes are a little more comfortable but most prefer the Sitkas for durability, especially in timber.

I don’t own either so take it FWIW. I’d probably buy Sitkas if I needed waders more than once or twice a year.

Catch Academy or another cheap brand on sale and buy 5 pairs. Even if you only get two years a piece that is a decade of waders for $600 or so.

Tried Rogers on my most recent pair and they lasted maybe a dozen hunts. Had a serious case of the wet arse the other day.

Might give these a try next time I buy a set, definitely tough to find some that last more than a season.

I have gone though numerous waders over the years and a friend of mines sons are really eaten up with everything duck hunting and they seem to know a little about everything duck hunting these days.

After a few years of convincing I bought a pair of Chene waders this year lifetime warranty and they are by far the most comfortable waders I have ever worn, no more lower back pain with waders on, I can get back to the camp and forget they are are on. While you have to pay for them they are very nice. (still can't believe I paid that much for a pair of waders...)

I have no issues with them not lasting because I only use them a few times a season. It's more so the sweating in the neoprene. I need something breathable and doesn't stay soaking wet making them heavy.

I have been really impressed with my High ‘N Dry breathable waders. Very well constructed and comfortable.

What neoprene waders are you using now?

Sounds like you might just need to get you a pirogue

Mine were ~200 on sale. They swallow me too. Not that mad about them lasting, just wish it wasn't in the last few weeks of the season. Now I have to scramble and find something quick.

I really like the look of those. Might have to try these for spring fishing and hunting next season.

Chene is direct to consumer, so I was not able to try them on like I was the Sitkas. I do not enjoy the return process. I wear waders 20+ times/year.

To the OP: you just need some breathable waders instead of neoprene. I have had them all and they all last about a year before they leak.

Rogers

TideWe
and on and on.
