Notre Dame is the lovable underdog now. They wouldn’t be that with BK

Everyone loves a good underdog story.
But you know everyone hates BK.

Freeman is humble and likable. CBK is an unlikable, pompous douchenozzle.

Makes an account on an LSU board.
Team makes National Title game.
Immediately goes to LSU board to talk shite.
You’re still that upset that Kelly hurt ND’s precious image by leaving y’all?

I love Coach BK. I followed him for years as an ND fan. People can say whatever they want but he always got the most out of his players. It’s Notre Dame….its so ridiculously hard to recruit for South Bend. He always had really really good teams but never could quite get those elite type players to overcome teams with head to toe elite NFL talent. partly due to academic standards but also bc it’s South Bend. If BK can just continue to lock down Louisiana he’ll have a top 10 class every year

Its all in how the media portrays them. I always thought BK was an unlikeable hardass, and he may have been at ND, but i don't get thst impression now, because I see him now in other media.

Feeeman is a young guy swimming in praise - give him a few more years and immerse expectations he can’t for-fill and get back to us - LOL

I get the love for Freeman because of the physicality and defense he brought to ND but he has 2 things Kelly didn’t have at ND:
1) Transfer Portal
2) NIL
Nobody can deny the impact that has had on college football. The playoff teams alone prove that by having Arizona St there being competitive, Notre Dame, Indiana and SMU. Other examples during the season are Vandy, Ole Miss, BYU and others.
Freeman has a very good roster that needed a few key transfers to allow it to take that next step. Could Freeman have had this success if he only had the high school ranks to build his roster from like Kelly had to do? I can’t answer that, but that transfer portal has helped him tremendously by filling those gaps that ND has had to deal with every year.
As far as Kelly, he has made some mistakes here with his hires but how can we not acknowledge that he has righted those mistakes on defense and the roster? His offenses have also been really good 2/3 years. While they weren’t perfect, which I believe were due to injuries and breaking in a new OC, they were still very good when comparing to what we are accustomed to.
It has taken Kelly 3 seasons to figure out how to build an entire program, in a new college world involving NIL and the transfer portal. In those years, the roster he is currently building, along with the coaches, are the best we have seen since the fall off of 2019. He has corrected his issues ON PAPER and if he doesn’t make the playoffs next year, the melts about Freeman will be warranted. We can’t acknowledge his failures and not admit he is making strides in correcting them.

You are so fricking delusional. Jesus we have some retarded fans.
Notre Dame and the entirety of the college football world (media, fans, etc) are laughing at BK and LSU right now.
But you are focusing on "NDs precious image" my fricking gracious we keep taking Ls on and off the field

Wait you’re really arguing that Freeman has NIL and transfer portal and Kelly didn’t at ND? What about now? Kelly has everything Freeman has and can’t get us in a 12 team playoff. Also, while we improved greatly in his first year, we haven’t improved since. There has been zero overall team progress since. 2023 was a major failure when you consider the studs we had on offense. That was BK’s best chance to win a championship, but the worst defense I can remember blew it, and it falls on the head coach.

I know reading comprehension is tough but as I said, Freeman only had a few holes to fill with the transfer portal and he did that. Kelly had to rebuild an entire roster. We absolutely had to hit on 10-15 transfers and didn’t due to the lack of NIL funds. Then we lost Guillory, Perkins, Hilton, Parker and Durham had lingering injury all season. We couldn’t afford those losses in personal.
LSU fans stepped up in the NIL contributions and holy shite look at the portal transfers now…. Crazy how the NIL money doubled and the talent followed for Kelly. How can you look at the coaching staff now and the recruits and not say there is a drastic improvement in our roster and staff since day 1 when he got here? Like I said in that post, if he doesn’t make the playoffs next year then all this criticism is warranted.
Also, do you think Freeman makes it through our schedule this year and makes the playoffs with that QB? He lost to Northern Illinois but yet we somehow think he’d made it through the run of Bama, Ole Miss, aTm, OU, Vandy and etc? I’m sure his team took a lot of wear and tear with that gauntlet of a schedule they played this year. Think what you may but they’ve had the easiest path to the championship and they barely beat a Penn St team that didn’t have 1 completed pass to a WR. That seems like a tough defensive task to plan for.

Twitter is going ham making fun of BK. Saw the video of him doing silly dance with kid from Westgate. For some reason he is easy to make fun of.

Let the laugh. I’m happy for ND. Because next week when OSU beats them 38-10….nothing will have changed between BK and Freeman.

I have never gotten this vibe at all.
I just don't want ND to win so we don't have to see even more headlines of CBK leaving and ND finally wins one.

You can talk all you want about what Freeman wouldn’t have done. It’s bullshite hypotheticals. He did what he was supposed to do, beat teams we lost to, and brought his team to the championship. Kelly did nothing. Bring more hypotheticals if you wish.

Yeah, BK just isn't very likable. I could GAF, but that matters to some.
