Sitting on a strip of woods that sits between 1200 acres of timber company pines and a food plot. Hoping to catch slipping through the timber.

Shot a nice 8 yesterday, where he ended up was loaded with sign. Moved a camera and overnight had 3 good bucks come through.

So far have seen a bunch of deer and a lot chasing. Just need another big one in bow range.

I was going to stay in today but I have the itch. Hunting clothes are in the dryer and once they're done, I'm going to pack up and head out.

Saw 4 at this spot Saturday. Couldn't get a shot on any of them. Had a doe with a yearling walk 10' from me. No way to get a shot. She finally smelled me when she got to my scent in the wind. Small buck, but he was walking away and texas heart shot would have been only chance.

lol. I did trade out blue rhino cans for my camp neighbor. Had to meet a couple of people today. And open the mail saying I have jury duty on the 27th. I’m going to need yall to tell the judge that I can’t miss the last couple of days of season.

Just don’t go. Last and first time I had it there were tons of people that just didn’t come. Of course , I ended up on the jury because of that. Two fellas are now servicing life without parole. Why they let me on it I’ll never know. Open and shut case. Drug dealer shot by two of his customers on camera.

Area 2
Set up at a new spot at Russell Sage WMA
Mathews V3X
Platform and saddle

I set in a honey locust tree overlooking a good funnel. I seem to be picking some good spots to set up in. I saw 12 deer today including a spike and a 6-point younger buck. No shooters but 6 of the deer presented a shot if I wanted it. I’m really just scouting for spots for next season since I have some buddies coming down from Ohio to hunt. If I come across a big buck, I’ll fill my last tag.

But dang it was COLD!!! I need to invest in some good base layers for next season. I was bundled up so I was ok. But a good base layer would have been better.

On to finding another spot.
