Would you cancel the engagement before the marriage if you could go back?

Men’s power is freedom. Women’s power is control.

I’ve only been married for 3 months but I know I 100% made the right decision

I love my wife and sometimes (often times) she doesn’t like me but she usually loves me back. I’m happy with my decision to marry her. She’s loyal and we have two great kids together.

Honestly, besides being truly in love…My wife and I are much more efficient/effective together than we would be solo.

We’re at the point (after quite a few years of marriage) that we’re so in sync we’re like the power of 3 people in 2 if that makes any sense. Our minds certainly operate well together.

It’s generally a bad idea for men in modern times.

There’s very little return on investment other than a clean house if she’s even willing to do that. Some girls won’t even do that now.

Women are very expensive and want to spend money on frivolous things.

They make less money than you, but they want to spend all of your money.

They’re also often obsessed with controlling you and manipulating you.

Everything you have is theirs, but not everything they have is yours.

They’re very needy, high maintenance, and require lots of attention from you.

(Disclaimer: My wife is great, but she seems to be an outlier. Most girls today seem to act the way that I’m describing above.)

Give us an update in three years.

I’m on year 27. There’s good days and bad…they all kinda blend together at this point. Most of the time, you’re just “there”. I hope you picked someone that you’re okay with cohabiting with in a few years, because that’s basically what marriage is. Good luck.

I wouldn’t cancel it. Doesn’t mean it’s always been a smooth road. But life before marriage wasn’t smooth either. Together we have built a life that neither could dream of accomplishing on our own. Kids, career, homes, vacations, but more than those is a relationship built on respect.

No way in hell would I want to be single and navigating this dumb arse world alone. There were times, especially early on that I would have taken a bet against us. But 26 yrs later we BOTH sometimes marvel at how good it’s all worked out. Respect goes a long way but truthfully you need a lot of just dumb luck that your pick wasn’t a horrible human.

Do you fart in front of each other yet? That’s when you know you’re really close and comfortable with each other.

Creating a family is what God created us for. There is not one other thing on this planet that can give you the same joy and fulfilment of your soul. There's also probably nothing that can make you more angry either, lol, but in the end if you truly commit to it with someone that is of the same mindset, there is nothing like it.

If it's the right person, 100%

I'm extremely lucky. My wife is an incredible mother and wife. She truly has brought so much joy to my life.

I can't fathom being married to someone I didn't love, that'd be pure hell.

Start actually listening to her stories and do some stupid shite she wants to do. She will then know something is up and call it off on you.

Some things should remain discrete in marriage.

You’re husband and wife not frat bros.

We are both late 40’s so we will avoid a lot of the things that stress young marriages

I always laugh when someone says they don’t fart around each other. Nothing says you trust someone more than withholding body functions and acting like your shite doesn’t stink. Try that getting stomach viruses or food poisoning and get back to me. Life happens. You gotta fart and shite. If you can’t do that around your spouse, then it’s gonna be a painful life or a very short marriage.

I mean. My parents have been married 40 years and don't rip arse (outside of like.. illness/emergency) in front of each other.

Guess I should give them a call and let them know of their impending divorce.
