For those about to enter the workforce, what occupation would you recommend that you feel certain will not be replaced by AI in the next 50 years?

AI is unlikely to be replacing plumbers or HVAC techs any time soon I'd imagine.

Trial lawyer.

Sure AI could potentially settle the facts of a case, but until the US Constitution is completed eroded, we will still have jury trials.

Unless AI can start swinging hammers and hauling shingles up to the roof, trades are the safest bet.

Until they create proper humanoid robots, anything physical is still mostly safe.

Might be AI/robot assisted, but still require human intervention.

Blue collar work. Repair is a perfect example. There is no robot/AI that can repair machines or electronics.

Physical and Occupational therapy for the manual parts. AI is actually helping with documentation though.

Commercial Airline Pilot. Not because AI couldn't do it, but people wouldn't accept it

I don't think there are any jobs that are completely AI proof but jobs that require some kind of physical manipulation are the safest. AI will be used for some of the administrative parts of those kinds of jobs but I think those are the safest by far.

Nothing that will pay a wage worth living for.

Why do you think the trades are dying and cheap illegal's do them? Cause it's back-breaking work that you can't do for the rest of your life and comes with extreme risks, all for wages that get suppressed every year.
