I really like the expanded playoff.

The seeding for this year was dumb. Clearly Boise, ASU, and Ohio St were seeded incorrectly.

Stopped paying attention.
BTW, the Texas game yesterday was a 4.5 hour broadcast.

Should only be 8. Cut back 4/ need for bye week. Rank top 8 in, no auto bids or bye weeks. Old computer bcs 50%, committee 50% for ranking weight. Would have removed Boise, ariz st, smu, clemson this yr. And not one complaint from 3 loss sec teams. 12 is too much, bye week prolongs it too much

I agree that I like the expanded playoff but to be fair. In past years, the 4 team playoff would have included,
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Penn State
Boise & ASU were only the seeds that they were due to the byes only being given to conference champs. Regardless, more football is always the answer.

That just shows how bad this setup for the playoff is as it currently stands. 5, 6, and 8 seeds but 3, 4, and 6 in the rankings. Add to that the winner of the sugar bowl will be a top 5 ranked team, the expanded playoffs didn't help the little guy or cinderella at all.

I'm not convinced that an opening round bye in the college football postseason is a good thing. If you went straight to the games after championship week, maybe, but letting opening round teams knock some holiday rust off might be a leg up.
They still effed up the seeding this round.

same, teams that most assumed would lose did and they can't complain about not having a shot and fans bet more ball. Seems like a win to me

The bye week is ridiculous.

Yep. And undefeated No. 1 lost to a two loss team. It is about who is playing the best at the end of the year when it matters most.

If it proves anything it proves the committee was clueless and didn't factor SOS in as they should. South Carolina got absolutely screwed. They were one of the hotter teams in the country. The way they put this scheduling up they effectively said it doesn't matter if your OOC plays a top 10 team. In fact, you're only hurting yourself if you do. Hopefully it changes next year because LSU opens up against Clemson which should help them SOS wise.

2 of them would have been the 3 and 4 in the old playoffs.
oregon played the #6 team as an 8 seed.
I think more games is good, but they need to be seeded on merit.

"I don't care. And I'll show you how little I care by knowing how long the game took to finish."
It was such a punishment to watch a double overtime football game yesterday.

a play in to the semis.
Home game for the the first 2 rounds.
If you are a top 2 seed, your road to the champ is the same as it has been (technically easier).

So far three of the four bye teams have all lost. If Georgia loses today it will be all four.

Bye week teams started extremely slow and got to early deficits. 2 of those teams were overmatched in ASU and Boise but they both made a better mid to late push than Oregon did.
Just an observation. More time will tell if those bye weeks are a hindrance or not.

Get rid of the bye week but add Four more teams for a 16 team bracket. This would eliminate cronyism by the television influence for better TV revenue over smaller universities that catch lightning in a bottle.

No, it should be 8 and no teams get byes, there is zero reason to give a team a bye week and supposedly help them win with having play-in games. Probably the worst "committee" ever for post-season college football. Next thing people will start saying it should be like the old I-AA 16 team version of play offs.
