I live on the westbank surrounded by Muslims.

They are mostly well-off Palestinians and some Saudis. Most of these people are decent folk. They take care of their properties and usually drive nice cars (except their women drive like maniacs, but that’s another thread). They have large families and their kids play in the street like anyone else’s. One dude walks on the golf course every evening and waves and says “hello my friend” when he sees me.

There is a local restaurant, quite popular, that is run by a Palestinian family. I am a pro-Israel guy but I don’t wear it on my sleeve. I go in there for takeout and the little dude is happy to see me and he sometimes throws in a free baklava. They are nice and want to be good neighbors.

BUT

There are pockets of less-friendly folk. Some are less affluent and clearly keep themselves separate from others. I have no doubt that some of these guys have connections with unsavory elements and maybe are just biding their time to cause trouble. They are there, but they are outnumbered by the good ones.
