Has anyone had issues crossing Canadian border with dwi (or pending) on record?

I just found out the other day that if I have a dwi on my record, that i would have great difficulty getting into Canada. I'm supposed to be going on an Alaska cruise departing from Vancouver in June.

Edited to add...
For the comments ripping me...

I wasn't caught driving... found in my garage after I'm assuming I drove through the door. I wasn't out drinking, but we think there's a possibility that a medication change reaction may have caused my blackout. We shall see after the blood work was taken from the emergency room. I understand that even an arrest for suspicion of dwi is cause for Canada to deny entry.

Coworker was denied entry for a 15 year old DWI.

Stick to the cruises for poors.

They're pretty hard assed about it, but a pending one might not be a problem, haven't encountered that yet.

If I have a DWI, how would it get on your record? Are you drunk?

Been there and done that, not an issue and I've been to Canada many times.

Hunt in Canada every year with several guys with college DUIs (15-20 years ago). No issues, 8 years running

When you get to the border checkpoint ask for Oliver. Tell him Hobo sent you then present him with a wooden nickel. You shouldn't have any issues after that

Must depend on the checkpoint or if the BP agent got laid last night because I know guys that have been turned back.

And railroads that cross the border will not hire you in those regions with a DWI on your record due to border issues.

Not me, but that is a problematic issue. There was talk of that on a cruise I was on that had stops in Canada. Trudeau will have you vetted.

Got a DUI in 2008. In the last 5 years I've flown (Toronto) and driven (Windsor) into Canada and haven't had any trouble whatsoever. Maybe I got lucky though who knows

I’ve found this only happens when the salmon flies south.

Nope, you buy good booze on the US side and gift it on the CAN side. After years of doing this they all know and want to wait on you.

Canada is a fricked situation for Americans. They harassed every American getting off the plane in Winnipeg. They’ve fricked with me while transiting through Toronto to the point I think I said, you understand I’m not in your country (airport rules, not geography), and don’t intend to be, right?

Spent way too much time explaining my itinerary, every time. One of the border guards in Winterpeg gave me his card and told me to warn him a few days before each flight back to that Mecca of suck. During interviews they’ve asked why I have most of my IRA in X company (not a stock but like “Vanguard” or some shite). Australia is the only other country that’s come close.

In 2005 I was driving on my way from Seattle to Vancouver and had to check-in with customs while they searched my car. I had no record, but I was driving a 69 Nova with primer, no hubcaps, California plates and an Oakland street address on my driver’s license.

They searched my car and cut me loose. They were looking for weapons, not drugs and apparently there were a lot of guns being smuggled from California to BC. Haven’t been back to Vancouver since.

Within the last 10 years? Easy answer is it’s up to the border guard checking credential’s discretion.

It’s also not what the judgement was, it’s what the original charge was.
