Guy has really had bad luck. Hope he can come back, even though our RB room is stacked. Was just curious how he's doing.

Isn’t he out of eligibility?

Based on the comments by BK following his injury, sounds like Emery is going to focus on things beyond football moving forward.

Should get one more, because he was injured just before the season started. I would think he has 1 more year.

He and Derek Stingley were in the same class and Stingley is about to finish his third year in the league. Some times you just need to hang it up.

Maybe coaching is in his future!!

OR, pursue your dream as long as you can. There have been several players at other schools who eventually did well by persevering.

He should be eligible to return next season with a medical redshirt for 2024.
However, as other posters have said, it may be time for him to hang it up. It would be a sad ending to his football career. He's overcame so much. Wish him the best.

I like Emery. IMO, he has a lot of football talent. Would love to see him give it one more try in P&G but thought he tweeted out months back he was moving on.
Best wishes and God bless to him.

I’d like to bring him back. He’s had a big part in some great Ws that I’m not sure we win without his performance; 2022 Auburn and 2023 Bama come to mind.

So he should retire from football? Too late for him? Lol guess stingley needs to retire too. God forbid they try to play in their mid twenties

Heard he's focusing on life after football. I believe Moscona mentioned it last week on one of his pods/shows. It wasn't an official announcement, just a question from a viewer.

Why not give it one more shot? He’s got the rest of his life to focus on life after football. If that Miami tight end can still play then so can Emery. Why not have some more proven rb depth and experience which we don’t have much of. It would also be nice to keep one last player from the 2019 team around for another year just for nostalgia sake.

We aren’t processing him, he just wants to do something else. Everything you say is why he should stay but for the universities benefit.
Maybe he wants to get a real job, get started in a career, etc.

Dude he's 30
Prob does t want to play with kids almost half his age

He played in the USC game and injured it in practice the following week.

So he should retire from football?
He’s been at LSU for six seasons, got a free education and was a part of the best team in college football history. Some times things don’t work out as planned.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or just obtuse.

By and large, knee ligament injuries heal well these days. OTOH, even if it heals well, one may not be able to return an elite level of performance. We're not there to know, but I think we should consider the possibility that his injury may not heal well enough for him to return to playing football. In addition, it may be that he's just ready to turn the page to his life, advancing to his next challenge.

Maybe he wants to walk with his own knees when he's 50.
