I haven’t watched the movie in years so I suspect they don’t really delve into Trung’s question, but I would think Kevin’s father is either a partner in a corporate law firm or involved in the Chicago Board of Trade.

My personal theory, and it doesn’t fully work out timing wise, is that Kevin’s father works for Boeing.
The next likely option is that Kevin’s dad works in futures. Maybe at the CME? Futures is the dominant industry in downtown Chicago

Chicago has a lot of major corporations. He is property a VP or a CFO or something thing like that. Like Farris Bueller's dad. He could be Clark Griswald's boss.

Someone did that with the Short Circuit house too and made it an Airbnb.
