And as expected, they’re playing the victim card

Color me shocked.

However, it is important to address the challenges we have faced. We could not withstand a system that, at times, seemed set up for us to fail. As a minority-owned business, we firmly believe that we must be welcomed in this city to serve our community, without being judged by the color of our skin. True progress comes when all businesses, regardless of who owns them, are given equal opportunities to thrive.

Neighbors complained about loud music and unruly behavior so of course they're racist.

Per WBRZ

quote:

Metro Council member Denise Amoroso said some of Boil & Roux's patrons had been disrespectful to the restaurant's neighbors. “All we ever asked was that they obey noise ordinances and respect the neighbors ... and they did not,” Amoroso said, according to the newspaper. She said she was "standing in for my neighbors as their city council person."

Walker has also had disputes with the Alcohol Beverage Control Board and claims the agency still holds some of its liquor. He sued the board in 2023, saying the panel wasn't applying laws evenly and that a nearby Mexican restaurant had not faced the same level of code enforcement.

The board suspended the restaurant's liquor license for two months last February and placed the business on a year of probation.

Separately, the newspaper reported, the restaurant's landlord has twice filed lawsuits seeking its eviction over nonpayment of rent.

Yeah, it just HAS to be because of the color of their skin. It has ZERO to do with the fact that they’re obnoxious as all frick.

Nah, it wasn't cause of your skin color. It's cause of your shitty food and shitty waitstaff. Went there once and both of my kids plates came out raw. I have never seen chicken strips completely fried on the outside and still raw and cold in the middle except at this restaurant.

Lasted longer than their fried chicken and red bean joint on the corner of Woodale at Fla Blvd.

The product at the Woodale drive thru was great, but their pocket books and management style and wait times..not so much.

Newsflash: Even CIA-Hyde Park, FCI, Lyon and Swish trained pedigreed Chef restaurants, often have but a limited shelf life and time to rake. Then poof..gone.

Years too long, that place was a cancer and attracted the absolute worst element. No wonder that CVS shut down. I can't imagine Living close to that nonsense. I'm almost a mile away and could still hear it some nights

Maybe when a company isolates itself to only one ethnicity this happens? Maybe Painting Black Lives Matter in the parking lot wasn’t a great idea to attract all people to your establishment.

It’s a high risk/high reward business in the best of times.

Couldn’t burn crosses in the parking lot for fear of igniting all that spray paint

We used to go for lunch up until about 5-6 years ago. That’s when the food started going downhill, and the staff started subtly making it clear that because of the color of OUR skin, our business wasn’t real welcome.
