Is there any worse office etiquette than eating from a potluck you didn’t bring food to?

Dear FB…

We had a potluck on our floor, where there are about 100 employees. About 20 of us brought dishes, yet the whole goddamn floor lined up for food and the girl that put on the potluck is trying to tell people that if you didn’t bring food, you can’t eat… and some people are giving her shite about it.

Never wanted to strangle somebody so bad in my life

I’m thinking, dude, we paid for this shite out of our own pockets, these fricking leeches act like the company has funded all of this and it’s a free-for-all

The people at the front of the line are late 20s and early 30s something who didn’t bring anything

Millennials are ruining this fricking planet, their naivety and entitlement is disturbing

Rant over

I'm glad I'll never sniff another cocktail weenie in the office again.

Just don't admit to smacking your ole lady up when you get home. Tell everyone she just couldn't catch.

Did y’all do a good job of letting everyone know about the potluck and rules in advance? Would suck to spend the whole day smelling delicious food over your cold turkey sandwich if you didn’t know there was going to be a potluck.

Look, everyone wants the cool kids at the party. I'm going to make a plate and please don't try to sit with us.

I agree with this since there is such a vast number of employees. I say in a smaller environment it’s no big deal. One guy forgot etc. Also I think how the event is marketed is important. What were they thinking was going to happen? Better communication maybe.

True, I can hear a lot of people go in and out of the bathroom, when I'm sitting on the commode, without washing their hands. I sure as hell don't want to eat any food they've prepared.

I go on other people's kitchens every day. I'm so leery of eating food other people make. Ive seen some shite. So many people have no regards for food handling or storage.

I’ve done this. But to be fair, nobody bothered to tell me there was gonna be a potluck

Did the food run out? If there was plenty of food I don't see the issue.
