Zero claims made. Zero.
I have no idea how some people are handling this. Can’t wait to see what this years increase has for me

Dang that's bad. Mine was 1200 two years ago and now it's 2400. I'm in central MS, it's ridiculous

I'm averaging a 42% annual increase each year for the past 4 years. It has been pretty ridiculous for zero claims

This shits got me seriously thinking of getting a cyber security diploma (work from home) and getting an RV.

Same boat. It's fricking infuriating. Nothing like getting yearly raises only to have them consumed by inflation and increased premiums.

You are lucky. Some have tripled and quadrupled

At some point self insuring has be better mathematically.

Perfect storm of inflation and a horrible legal climate. I doubt you’ll see any significant increase in ‘25 though. Louisiana’s property insurance market is starting to stabilize now.

This is going to destroy SELA over time if not corrected.
Think about the trickle down effect from an additional $5K/year out of people's personal spending budgets compounded across hundreds of thousands of home owners.
It's money being taken out of the pockets of local shops, restaurants, etc.
That money is gone. It's not being invested for retirement, for kid's colleges, for home improvements, for anything.

The problem is you can't self insure if you have a mortgage.

YOu do realize you don't have to stay wiht the same company forever?

I’m still dumbfounded that my homeowners is still like 5000 in metairie. I thought they were gonna hit me with a 100% increase for next year but only went up about 500.
Citizens quoted me at 17k

I switched to SageSure for 1 year then they raised the premium over 60%
Shopped around again to bring it down. Basically having to shop around every year.
Near Pcola Fl in a sound-front community. Our house is not on the water but at 15" above SL lol

Some times you do if no one is taking on new policy’s in your area

Blame your neighbors for using storms as reasons for new roofs, insurance companies for paying out obviously bad claims while also screwing others, blame lawyers for consistently suing insurance companies for dumb shite, but lastly blame the government for even letting it get to this point.

Agreed, talk to my agent and he said something like 8 out of the 11 carriers in MS lost money last year.

Homeowner insurance has been fairly reasonable - auto has gotten a case of stupid [no claims on either]. Assume this to be a slight of hand.
As for local taxes - the value of our home has settled. To feed the dragon the actual property itself is taking on increases...especially in the more rural areas
