Planning a trip to go to Branson from Jan 1-5 with teenage kids. Never been, looking for tips.
Planning on doing silver dollar city, anyone know how busy it typically is around this time of year. I'm sure it will be cold.
Any other things we should visit or do in the area. TIA

I would highly recommend Top of the Rock

SDC closes on 12/31 for the winter and don't open back up until mid-March.

We just got back
Definitely go to Top of the Rock and see the museum and eat at the restaurant. I'd also say go eat lunch one day at College of the Ozarks in Hollister. It was delicious and the entire restaurant and lodge is student run. Silver Dollar City has very odd hours. Doesn't open until 11am or noon most days and closed on Mondays (I think) so pay close attention to that. We didn't do any hiking or biking as we spent the only warm day at SDC but there's tons of trails for both.

Silver Dollar City will be closed, and the town will be very slow after NYE.
If you are looking for something similar, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg will still be humming and Dollywood is open until Jan 5 before it closes for Winter. We will be there Dec 31-Jan 5

Make the short drive to Springfield. The Bass Pro Shop mega store is incredible, but the Aquarium built into it is absolutely top notch. We spent almost 4 hours between the two and I don't hunt or fish.

We went to SDC last year and didn't realize it was the last day it was open for the season. Like everyone else is saying the town starts to shut down. The go-cart places were closed but most of everything else was open. We were only there for a couple of days during the week so maybe one will open on a Friday.
Also, the morning we went to SDC it was really cold and we had to wait until it warmed up for most of the roller coasters to open. Something about it had to hit a certain temperature before they could run them. On the plus side, the park wasn't that crowded and we were able to ride a lot once things opened.
There is also a big rope course there called Fritz. That was cool and the older kids will be able to do everything.
If you are driving, we stopped the night in Little Rock and went to the Clinton Library. It was really cool regardless of your political views.
But I would call to confirm that SDC will be open when you are there.

Our kids did not want to leave the Ozarks after only 3 nights so we stayed a night in Eureka Springs at the Crescent Hotel on our way home. Very cool place and very haunted. There's a bar on the top floor and a spa on the bottom floor. Reminded me of The Arlington in Hot Springs but much smaller and better taken care of. I'd suggest Ermilio's for a dinner spot and Local Flavor Cafe for a great lunch.

The Bass Pro store has a fishing, racing, gun, and bow museum. I’m probably missing a few.

I was honestly more impressed with the Bass Pro / Wonders of Wildlife than I was with Branson

top of the rock is cool, as is most other stuff around Big Cedar Lodge. I prefer staying there than actually going into Branson. Make a pass through town, see the sights, and go explore the Big Cedar area, golf cart cave tour, golf, fishing, skeet shooting, horseback riding, etc.

I did enjoy SDC. Top of the Rock - for us, its a one time thing. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed.
We did enjoy Dogwood Canyon.
