Pope Francis has sent a clear message to Israel after unveiling this year’s Christmas nativity scene in St Peter’s Square.

The display features a baby Jesus, lying on a manger lined with the Palestinian keffiyeh.

The pope said: ‘These nativity scenes remind us of those who, in the land where the Son of God was born, continue to suffer due to the tragedy of war.’
The keffiyeh, a black and white scarf worn by Palestinians, is a symbol that is commonly used to demonstrate support towards the state.

This pope is an evil commie.

I don’t understand why he constantly feels the need to insert himself in these sort of issues.

The Pope could have laid the baby Jesus on the body of the old dude who had his head chopped off with a garden hoe by one of the poor, suffering people in Gaza.

Pope Francis is not my favorite or anything near it. He does lean way left but is not a commie. He is NOT evil.

No it wasn’t. During the time of Jesus, it was the Roman Provence of Judea. It wasn’t until 136 AD, after putting down a Jewish revolt and exiling most of the Jewish population of Judea, that the Romans renamed it “ Syria Palaestina”.

And even then it wasn’t for any peoples called “Palestinian”, rather it was to erase the Jewish connection to the Provence and replace it with a name associated with the extinct Philistine civilization.

Maybe he has some sympathy for the tens of thousands of children that have been bombed, starved, amputated or killed in Gaza?

Did the pope say this was intentional?

Author of the article threw the keffiyeh part in. I would just think its a piece of cloth

No need to bother.

Most of the people riling about the Pope aren't even Catholic.
