It’s made significantly more complicated by bama not handling business versus vandy and OU. Don’t lose games to bad teams and this isn’t really a discussion.

Bama has no one to blame but themselves.

If Bama gets in, the committee is saying there is 9 given slots & only 3 open slots available:
5 for Conference Champs
2 for SEC & B10 champ game losers
1 Norte Dame
1 Alabama
3 from P2 also rans

If it’s not Bama and SMU, it’s someone else next season. This is always going to be a discussion. The committee has to set a precedent on what the metrics are. And if you play in the weaker power 4 conferences, you may need to schedule tougher OOC games for when you lose your conference championship. It can be said that you can only play who’s on your schedule…. The same can be said for the stronger Power 4 conferences and it will be tougher to run through unscathed from here on out. Don’t penalize the tougher conferences for that.
That being said, I do believe Bama deserves to be in over SMU. If it were LSU and not Bama, we would be raising ten kinds of hell.

there is no way they have that good of strength of record, or strength of schedule. They were rated as the 2nd easiest schedule out of all of P4 programs. They have beaten ONE team with a winning record, 7-5 Pitt. This is a joke.

Screw that. This is another example of how people say that Alabama’s losses just don’t matter. They lost to Vanderbilt and got the shite kicked out of them by Oklahoma. Nobody in CFB other than Alabama would have such a lobby for them to make the playoffs given their losses.

The amount of LSU fans slobbering all over Alabama is really sad.

those bad teams were better than anyone on the SMU schedule, and right there with Clemson. But, you guys don't consider that. Let's talk about the great wins for SMU? Now, let's talk about the wins of BAMA.

I disagree. This should be easy that SMU was forced to play an extra game because they actually handled business in the regular season and only lost by 3 in that extra game. Bama does not get rewarded this year for sitting at home like they've received a handful of times in the past. That ship has sailed, SMU gets in.

for me, I hate Bama. I think SC should be in over them anyway. But, they aren't.

That said, no way SMU has the resume, record, Strength of Schedule, even close to bama. It sets a precedent going forward that schedule strength means nothing. I"m sorry, they beat one team with a winning record, 7-5 Pitt. SMU is not close to a playoff team. They will get in though.

If Bama,They would destroy the concept of playing a conf championship game. If you were in before you shouldn’t be replaced by a team sitting at home.

Ok...tell me about their big wins. Tell me about that schedule, that ranked 2nd from the bottom in all of P4 schools. I'm listening.
