What is causing LA’s cities to shift to republican mayors?

We now have Shreveport and BR with republican mayors, and Monroe with an Indy who leans towards the right. In 2020 everyone had dem mayors, and had been in dem hands for several cycles. Each of these cities are under 38% white. What has led to this shift to republicans or right leaning mayors that are white? Have the dem mayors simply been so bad that this is just a revolt. Is it a turnout issue? I’m glad to see it, but I’m a little surprised.

This has to be a huge part of it. It’s crazy that it is happening in BR, but there was virtually no shift towards Trump in NO last month.

Well, BR is a little different. There are circumstances that you probably can look at that you won't see in other cities that are having the same results.

I think the difference is that Trump shook things up for black people that vote democrat. He cracked the dam that's holding them underwater. Maybe the crack is widening in LA? Too soon to say for certain.

The younger generation are not watching the MSM. They are on tic-toc, X, You-tube and are getting enough information to make them look up shite on their phone. A lot of channels have come up with young black men who have seen that the Dim party has taken advantage of their parents and grandparents for years and have gotten nothing of value in return.

People all over this nation have felt and noticed that Dem run governments are terrible — promising and not doing, taking more money - with no results, and pushing very liberal agendas
Most Americans are conservatives when it comes to money (taxes, etc.) and social issues (crime, etc.). Dems are not, and their government results show it.

The white population of EBR Parish is 43%. Black is 46%. A lack of enthusiasm from black voters and high turnout in stg over the tax vote, etc, put Sid over the top. Probably pulled more of the white Southdowns and Garden District crowd. Maybe even pulled a few more black voters than usual as well.
