Curious to hear what you all have to say. I love St.Martin, Guadeloupe and Martinique. Safe islands, great beaches, lots of historical sites, great beach bars.

St. John and pretty much all of the BVI. I love Jost van Dyke and Anegada.

My favorite is Nevis, but I also like Grand Cayman since they speak English and you can drink the water.

We go to different islands for different reasons.

Quick, cheap and easy trip (3-4 days) - Cozumel or Isla Mujeres

Quick where cost doesn’t matter - Grand Cayman or Bahamas

Wife wants crystal clear bath water and good food - Aruba

Longer trip without a lot of hassle - St. John

Celebrating something (ex. Anniversary) - Antigua

ETA I’ve been to a lot of the Caribbean islands. Two on my bucket list that I haven’t visited are Martinique and Barbados, in that order.

There's jsut nothing like the sparkle of the water around the BVI and those islands with amazing restaurants like Pirate's Bight on Norman Island. Then there's that raunchy bar on the water on the next cove over.

Bonaire for the diving. Like the fact that it is pretty much just a dive island. And you are in the Netherlands itself. No terrible poverty, no go areas, etc.

If I add up ease to get to, beach, water clarity, things to do or not do and places to eat, it comes up Turks and Caicos.

I like more off-the-path island so St. Kitts is a great one for me that has enough population and amenities due to schools on the island. But for truly isolation, Long Island, Bahamas. Amazing beaches with hardly any travel to it.

Yes it is and Nevis is a short boat ride away. Gotta get a Killer Bee at Sunshine's if you visit Nevis. The island is also where Princess Di summered.

Likewise, my wife and I honeymooned on Nevis and St. Kitts.

Grenada.

Beautiful beaches. Diverse landscape, including rain forests. English Speaking.

At a high level, which places are easiest to get to from Nola?
I know that a connection in Houston or Miami will have to be part of the deal.

Does a high level mean high end, high dollar?

I'm curious myself as we want to do something in January, and strongly considering Aruba, but open to anywhere really. Also starting out of MSY.

No, I meant in general which islands would have better flight options from Nola. And which airlines.
