He’s obviously a big strong guy but not necessarily the quickest or best at finding running lanes. He’s been misused and underused in my opinion.

Maybe LB would work better for him and would allow him to just run and hit people? He would have to learn to shed blocks obviously.

Just my idea for how to utilize his talent more and in a better way

Well, some posters said he missed the tackle on that fake by the Vandy punter so there's that. He has not been misused at LSU. He simply has no shiftiness to him at all/poor at changing direction but great running in a straight line. I don't think he could play defense well either because even DL and LBer need the ability to change direction efficiently. I have never ever seen Jackson change direction on a run even in the open field. I'm pretty surprised LSU coached didn't notice that major issue when he came to a camp or something...assuming he did.

I think Kaleb trucking a few guys last year made him think he was the 2nd coming of Fournette.

Don't give up on KJ, he needs the reps.

I’ll step out on the limb and say I’d love to see what he looks like at LB.

Bowl practice time is a good time to tinker with these things before spring

He definitely has the raw athletic ability to play either RB or LB if he can master either position

There CAN be a place for that type of back in short yardage situations hence Ole Miss using that Pegues? or whatever. But Jackson I'm sure has hopes of making it to the NFL and being a very one dimensional back isn't going to do it. I'm sure he will enter the transfer portal because as we all saw he disappeared from the LSU RB rotation.

These guys are tards. You gathered all of this nonsense from him never playing?? You guys are literally the most hopeless people I’ve ever encountered lol

I had this thought the other day.

Because I've been on tRant long enough to remember people suggesting that Joe Addai be moved to LB after the 03 season and the emergence of younger backs.

No

Instincts are literally his worst trait and without that you can't play LB

He needs to be in the Pistol formation. Let him run down hill. The lateral runs needed for RPO doesn’t fit his skill set.

we don't allow our rbs to get into a rhythm. the only game that it seemed we did was against SC with Durham

We have plenty of LB
If we cannot find four starters and 3 backups out of this line up then Kaleb is not the answer either.

I think RB and LB skill set is pretty different. Just cause he’s strong and can run doesn’t mean he can tackle, and read, and cover receivers- they do that as much tackle running backs ya know.

And IF he could do those things as well as or better than whoever else is competing for a spot at LB, he’d need reps at the position to get good.

Seems like a long shot to me.

Definitely have mentioned a couple of players changing positions on the team in my previous posts. I would like to se Perk at RB with Jackson and JuJuan Johnson moved to defense.

Perk has tackled RB's well beyond the backfield and Jackson can't hold on to the ball. Switch them and watch natural ability take over.
