They seem like such good people.

If there was anything bad about them, I'd figure media would run with it as they hate all things Christian.

Anybody know them in real life?

Yeah they are good people.

Phil is probably the realest person you’d ever meet. He baptized my sister.

He lives almost like people did 80 years ago.

They talk the talk and walk the walk when it comes to their beliefs. At least Phil does 100%

Funny you asked, we ran into Willie Sunday afternoon while deer hunting. Didn’t really talk to him but just another guy in their group. All accounts they good people.

He was in our area filming a show with a good friend

A number of posters on here know them. What’s the purpose of the question?

Tucker Carlson just had him on his YT channel for an hour 45 minute interview that was really good.

YouTube link

He tells Phil's story of how he was an alcoholic derelict who left his family but managed to turn his life around. Really interesting. I don't know them but I'd love to.

Nice people, but they are a lot smarter than they would have you believe. Cut throat business people, not in a bad way, but you aren’t that successful without it.

Before Duck Dynasty they were pretty normal people around town, but got to where they couldn’t really go out and do stuff.

The movie they made about Phil's story was really good, especially for a faith-based movie.

Mr. Phil was really good friends with my dad until my dad passed away three years ago. My dad used to run slat traps for catfish in the Ouachita River. He had a great story about Mr. Phil motoring up to him one day in the middle of the river. He said he called him by name and said he had been watching my dad. Mr. Phil told him to leave his boat at their house and he would shoot anyone that tried to touch it. They were friends after that till my dad died.

I also remember going one time with Mr. Phil and my dad to look at some cypress logs that he liked to use for the calls and how he wanted the wood to be a certain way. This would have been the late 70s/early 80s.

If you stopped to talk to them too long, Mr. Phil would end up preaching to you.

Ms. Kay is always very nice and I see her at random places around town. The last time at a CVS.

I'm about in the middle of all the boy's ages and grew up within a couple of miles of them but somehow never really met them in school. So, I don't know much about them.

If you haven't already check out "The Duck Call Room" podcast. It is on YouTube or the podcast apps. It is always a combination of Si, Martin, John-David, Godwin, and others. There are a couple of episodes with Si's wife on them. She was never on the show.

Before they got a show:

No hate- but let's realize that "reality" tv not always exactly what it seems. I know they have always hunted and fished, but like Mazeppa said in "Gypsy"= you gotta have a gimmick if you want to get ahead. They've done well for themselves and seem to be good people.

I think you might be getting two different programs mixed up.

Same state, but different characters and programs.

I watched Willie on Tucker. He said before they started any TV shows, he was making $28k/year - roughly 20 years ago.

I lived in West Monroe doe 2 years and saw them frequently. I worked at a restaurant and waited on Ms Kay often. She’s a very nice lady. She opened a little bakery in town that I went to often but she was rarely there. I think one of the wives/neices owned it and they just put Ms Kay’s name on it.

I saw Will and Jeb a few times. They were all nice people

Jace and his wife came to a a summer children’s camp and he preached one night. This was before the show. He signed autographs for everyone. He seemed very nice. I still have a shirt here somewhere.
