Anyone had any experience with the Bergara B14?

I'm thinking of picking one up, this would be the first Bergara i've owned.

My cousin has had one in 308 for a few years. He loves it. I've been thinking of picking one up as well.

No direct experience with the B14 but my bro-in-law and his son-in-law both shoot Bergara's in NRL22 competitions and they love them.

I don't have a B14, but I've got a premier highlander and it is by far the nicest rifle I've ever owned. It shoots better than I do.

Cousin bought one for his step daughter. He says it's a very nice rifle and drives tacks.

Purchased one in 7mm-08 for my nephew last year. Gun shoots great and he loves it. His first chance to hunt with it this year he got an Oryx in Texas. Pretty sure I'm gonna get one at some point.

Handled one in the store and my only nit pick would be that it’s a little stout at over 7lbs bare with basically a hollow stock, but Bergara barrels flat out shoot and it’s a rem700 for all intents so the aftermarket options are endless.

I have a b14 ridge in 6.5cr tbat I bought for my daughter. It’s the same guns just different barrel profile.
It’s a sub 1in gun with cheap factory ammo and has never missed or wounded a deer even though it’s a creedmore.

Have one in 6.5cm, it's been great so far. Definitely as accurate as I can shoot. Heavy for sure.

Just my preference here but I prefer heavier guns for hunting in the south east.

I'm hunting private land 99% of the time and my walk to the stand or blind is rarely more than a 300 yds or so.

Heavier gun is a gun that is easier to shoot more accurately.

There is one for sale on LA Sportsman. It is in 300 PRC and comes equipped with a scope. I inquired about it but I want to spend the money on a new bow instead.

No real argument there, and I didn’t mean to imply this rifle is some bench rest gun, I just think about the fact that the vast majority of what I’m going to do with a hunting rifle is tote it around and the few times I’m going to shoot it just need it to be reasonably accurate. Just seen a lot of guys go all out with the precision rifle trend to then leave that gun at home in favor of the ole fudd stick once they’ve toted to the camp and shown it off a time or two. Older I get the more I pick up the lighter recoiling lighter weight guns, especially to kill a 120 lb doe. I’m mostly just salty that those thinner profile guns are going away in favor of heavier contours in the name of sub-moa guarantees most people can’t shoot well enough to ever need.

I have one in .308. It’s finicky with ammo. I can stack 150gr federal fusion, but everything else is hit or miss. I like the fusion so I’ve kept the gun.

Check out the bergara b14 Facebook groups for real world feedback as well.

Yeah i will post a link below. Looks like the .300WM is the only one like it on sale, i don't really need that but i have been thinking about buying a Bergara.

I normally shoot a .308 or 30-06, either of those is more then enough for hunting in Alabama but i have been teasing the Bergara for a while.

My 6.5cm is basically the same - same stock, black cerakote. Bolt knob looks different, but whatever. I got my on a clearance sale in Murfreesboro for $580 in early 2023. This is a good sale if you want that caliber. Maybe they have others.

I'll add that my trigger is super light. Not to the point of being a problem, to me it's a good thing as long as you remember.

I have the B-14 HMR in 6.5 creed.

It’s a good shooting gun, have taken it out from 100 - 600 yards with no issues.

The HMR model is pretty heavy.

So Drunken, your answer for poor shooters is that they should shoot a less accurate rifle?
There is a cutoff between artillery and a deer rifle, but accuracy is a good thing.
