by 3 starters, I mean the LG that has been filling in the last 4-5 games, and Chester, and Emory.

Maybe it is a pipe dream, but if we could go after a good Center in the Portal, and Chester moves over to Guard, our back-up guard getting all that experience this left half of the season, and Emory coming back sliding to LT....would need to just replace RT (assuming a Center pick up in the portal).

You have that base, along with what we may have at RB coming back, and WR coming back, as well as TE, and might be enough to bring Nuss back?

Coen Echols going to push for an interior starting spot

Going to be hard to find a more talented transfer portal guy than him. More experienced players, obviously, but Echols is a mauler on the interior.

The staff is also very high on Tyree Adams

Throw in 5 star RSFR Weston Davis and 5 star true FR Carius Curne, with Curne’s ability to potentially play guard or tackle.

You’ll add a portal guy but it might just be a borderline starter/depth piece.

We need an experienced Center. The OL runs through Center, and we were very weak there all year....Chester just never turned the corner.

We will have an experienced center... Chester.

Dude was a freshman and just went through the fire of a season starting in the SEC. He's going to come back significantly better.

We say this about everyone.

Just because you gain experience doesn’t mean you’re automatically gonna progress to a good player.

Example: Major Burns

True but I think Chester has looked better as the year has progressed. I can’t say the same about burns

Didn’t Chester whif on the block last night that stripped the ball from Nuss?

No

No

No

No

Dude is terrible. Make Turner looks like a damn all-pro.

Let Chester try at guard, but the Turnstyle Twins experiment (Chester & Mubenga) needs to end.

Chester was a freshman, a lot more examples of freshmen improving from experience than not. Burns regressed as a senior, this comparison is apples and orangutans.

ETA:

Not saying we don’t need a backup plan at center though,

You are correct on this. Chester may improve into a solid center, but certainly not a given. That’s why coaches get paid the big bucks to figure that out.

Do you want them back? They can’t run block now.

We have recruited well, but sure will be inexperienced. These guys got very little PT this year. My hope is we bring in 2 good portal guys, with 1 being the best available center. Chester should get a shot at guard.

Mubenga hasn't played that bad the last two games. I see some progress. Hope it continues. If Emory comes back, our OL won't be that bad at all.

I expect changes on OL due to new coaching of OL/run game. It may not happen. But that is my expectation of a head coach that makes changes off season to improve the team. We have the building blocks with players with experience and talent and size.

What makes anyone think there is a prayer that Emory returns? He's rated as #3 tackle in some of the draft mocks.

Yeah, I was wondering if someone knew something that I didn’t.

Crazy how quick we've dismissed Bo Bordelon. Board was crazy over him 3 years ago, and just forgotten about now.
