The argument for Tulane in the playoff?

Potential undefeated conference champ with two losses to power 5 programs (Oklahoma and Kansas St). The losses look better everyday and I’d much rather see them get an opportunity over Bama or another two loss team with a weak schedule.

Tulane 100% is a better team than Boise. Boise living off a 3 point loss to Oregon and a RB with crazy stats against mid competition.
Tulane blowing the KState game is killing them though.

It’ll be really tough for Tulane. First, every Big 12 team must have 3 losses to even have this conversation.
However, Tulane losing to the two power conference schools on their schedule hurts their case against a 3 loss team from the SEC as well, especially South Carolina (if they beat Clemson).
And if Clemson beats South Carolina, a 2 loss Clemson has a better resume than a 2 loss Tulane.

I watched that game. The refs flipped a switch in the second half and were not going to allow K-State to lose. Phantom Pl calls can decide any game.

While the KSU loss is respectable, if you are a playoff team you shouldn't get blown out by a 6-5 Oklahoma team that will finish no better than 11th in the SEC.

OU beat Tulane 34-19 diff if 15

And it could be argued OU got lucky catching them early season while they sorted out things while Bama was later season when no secrets exist and teams are more seasoned.
I would 100% support Tulane in playoffs. They were ahead of KSU and gave up 2 4th qtr TDs. Tied at 27 and Tulane driving to take lead they fumbled and KSU took back for games last TD. Tulane out gained KSU by 100 yards.

I'm fine wit tulane getting in. Their defense has looked good lately
If they can hold Memphis to 17 pts or less they will have a good argument
