This maybe the most retarded thing I've ever seen on a new vehicle.

First of all this can't be good on starter and engine. Drove 3 miles to Walmart (brag) and it shut off and restarted 4 times at redlighst and stop signs.

Is there anyway to turn this off completely? I know there's a button to turn it off but you have to do it everytime you get in truck

You have to push that button every time you start the truck. I’m sure there is a program around it but I bet it also voids some type of warranty.

You get used to turning it off. It’s just part of my routine before putting it in gear.

You don't think that they gave any thought to that when engineering it?

I was in the habit of turning it off every time I got in the truck. Now I keep a charging brick plugged into the AC outlet and it disables the auto start/stop.

I hate the start/stop govt-mandated, testosterone-sapping, tree-hugging, panty waist, milquoast, bullshite, technical overreach crap they've done to our cars and trucks...

I got an old credit card and cut off about a half inch corner of it and pressed down the auto stop button and pushed the credit card corner in the small crack on side of the button which keeps the button depressed all the time.

I had a truck with work that was supposed to have this feature, it never worked. The truck always stayed on. I was told I needed to bring it in to see why this didn't work. I never did, drove the truck for 5 years without any issues.

I hate this too. Someone told me you can disable it but then a warning light will stay on your dash.

Engines these days can handle it.

Not like you'd think.

Just wait till you have it auto stop and then fail to auto start going up the new bridge.

Easy fix.

Google and get the one that plugs into the code reader.

Some units also stop the active fuel management that keeps the engine on all cylinders.

Everything that is wrong with the world can be traced back to the assholes that thought of this idea and all the way through the assholes that mandating this into law for some “green initiative” bullshite.

If you notice, there is a lag when the engine restarts and you lose power-steering and throttle for a split second. I wonder how many people have been hit and killed turning onto a major highway because there vehicle stalled due to this bullshite switch since it’s inception.

The F250's don't have it.

I imagine all 3/4 tons don't have it.

You have to get a custom tune to disable it. I'm not sure if that will void your warranty though. Most new vehicles have it now unfortunately.

Im sure they gave it the thought of "how long is the factory warranty"?

Does anyone else’s only do it during crisp weather?

Mine has started doing it for the season, but it’ll go all summer not.

There is a button on the dash that will turn it off.

If not, go into settings on your screen and turn it off.

Also, YouTube is your friend on this one. It will show you exactly how to do it on your make and model
