Why is Landry cutting the state income tax to 3%? He thinks he’s a hero? How about cutting it to ZERO percent?!!

Why does Landry want to tax the working people. A tax that doesn’t apply to non working people, who pay ZERO This is wolf in sheep skin, politician shell game BS. He’s as fake as Omar the tiger.

Too many corrupt politicians didn’t like losing their cows.

ETA: this Landry admin is going to stick out if it doesn’t show accountability as Trumps admin will.

I think that is the long term plan. This current legislation is the first step.

The increase in sales tax hits working people also. Most don’t have Delaware Corporations where they can buy toys sales tax free then have them sheltered in a leasing company.

Isn’t he proposing adding a sales tax on services? How does that help the working man?

Kind of like the Inspection stickers? Lmao

RINO'S are just tax and spend liberals. Where is Landry making cuts to the state budget? What state programs are on the chopping block?

It spreads the burden out to people who pay little in the way of state income tax. It's done in conservative states that are seeing an improvement in their stature.

The goal is to get.to no state income taxes like Florida and Tennessee.

NONE. In fact, the agency leaders got massive raise as high as 50% and the rates paid by the state for outside lawyers went up 50%. It is just more theft going up the change to our royalty.

Didn’t he intend to get to zero % income tax, but our Louisiana politicians wouldn’t go for it?

If he truly did (that’s debatable), then you’re pointing the finger at the wrong person/people.

I don’t like him btw, he focuses on the wrong things. But Louisiana could do so much worse than him.

My objection to Landry’s tax scheme is the flawed premise that tax cuts have to be “revenue neutral.” That’s bogus. Eliminate the income tax and reduce our sales tax, and then eliminate 25% of state government. Our state government is a drain in the state, it’s bloated and inefficient.

No, his plan never called for 0% income tax. That’s the problem. He wants to marginally reduce the rate while jacking up this insanely high sales tax we are forced to pay. Screw that.

It is, I’ve talked to sec Nelson about this. I believe he is sincere, but I disagree with this approach.

Politically, this was just not a strong position to take.

The problem is we aren’t comparable on the metrics that make this idea work. It’s wishful thinking and it’s obvious he’s in over his head and truly doesn’t have a coalition to get it done. Even when trying to whip up popularity he completely whiffs on reading his constituents..

Hopefully this administration will wake up the republican population to the need for America First candidates and not the self serving attorneys.

A bunch of us tried to tell people his best buddies were big time liberal trial lawyers before people voted for him... He's a phony. I would still vote for him over JBE tho. I hate that MFer... but Landry wasn't the ideal replacement. Hopefully he doesn't frick up so badly that voters elect another Democrat in a few years.

This is what’s wrong with this state. Better than jbe? No shite but Landry is still a rino that needs to be a one term governor. Until we get a real candidate it needs to be one and done for all these rinos in this state. As a conservative we can’t even criticize rino Landry because dumb republicans in the state say “well he is better than jbe.” Such a stupid fricking benchmark. So many of y’all clearly know nothing about Landry.
