Only 30 goals away from passing Wayne, he has also been one of the best for years

I think he's still around 1200 assists away from Gretzky though.

If you took away all of Gretzky's goals he would still be the all time scoring leader.

Of the GOATs in the big 4 sports Gretzky is the most untouchable IMO

GOAT? No. Greatest goal scorer? Yes. A top 10 player, but Wayne is easily the GOAT.

Of course not. Gretzky is untouchable.

But Ovi is top 5. Maybe top 3.

No Wayne is.

The general consensus is

1. Wayne
2-4. Orr, Howe, Lemieux

Crosby and Ovi fall somewhere in the 5-12 range.

McDavid could get as high as 5 but would need to start collecting some Cups

Gretzky is arguably tGOAT of all GOATS. So the answer to your question is no

But, Ovechkin might be the greatest pure scorer in the history of the game. That is absolutely an argument. Dude has been a sniper his entire career .

He is a top-5 player all time IMO, though. Him and Crosby both.

He has been very good. But he can’t hold a candle to The Great One.
