I don't know if it's due to older age, but I woke up completely apathetic about the loss

I used to feel some sort of emotion the following day after a loss, but I completely don't care now. I've questioned whether it's because I'm older and have more responsibilities now or it's today's game of NIL, transfers, etc

I have never remembered a team look so lifeless against Alabama, and also play so horribly. This team had everything to play for for multiple weeks and still looked like the season was already over. I don't see any leadership from coaches or players, other than BK getting red-faced occasionally

Whatever happened to these kids who were true fans of LSU and wanted to play here because they bled P&G and had pride for our state? Now it's all $$$

I couldn't care less if LSU loses the next two at this point. That's how this season feels, and I'm not getting my hopes up next year will be magically better either (loss at Clemson, you know the rest)

It’s because we’re not a contender. When you’re a contender and you lose, it hurts.

I’m the same way and it has a lot to do with losing the opener. Four years straight we’ve essentially taken ourselves out of contention for anything meaningful after the first game of the season. Also, this team has no fight in it on defense and if they aren’t gonna care, I sure as shite won’t.

It’s called growing up
I am in my 40s now w a child so I don’t get as high after a win or low after a loss
You probably have a more healthy balance in your life now so when lsu shits the bed like yesterday it’s just a momentary impact

Stated! You hit the bull’s eye! You busted open the LSU pinata, but guess what? No candy inside.

I'm with you. I tried to stop it at the end of last season. I used to get VERY mad, have trouble sleeping, etc when LSU would lose. Just not worth it; it's not worth it. Apathetic is a GREAT way to explain how I believe many feel. I know I didn't watch a highlight, interview, etc after the Bama loss and didn't read much this week as my way of 'flushing it'.

I watch this team and I see NO improvements, no progression or development. By this time in a season you will hear people say 'x'xx is not playing like a FR any longer, 'yyy' really has developed into a solid OG or DT. Who are we saying that about this season? We are trending in the wrong direction and w/o an infusion of some new talent, ready to play, next season (with the same schedule flipping the home/away & add CU) it is going to be more of the same.

Our program has brought years of enjoyment to faithful Tiger fans. I'm hoping over the next two weeks they can figure out some things, bow their backs out, play winning FB, and let that spark propel them into the signing period/portal window to bring in that next group of Tiger FB players. We NEED them.

Well said, and I feel exactly the same way. I am 63 years old and have bled LSU purple and gold since 1983, when I started grad school at LSU. I am also dealing with some terrible personal issues this year, and have looked forward to the games to get my mind off of things for a few hours. This hasn't been the case lately. I will still watch because I love LSU, but it is clear as day that changes need to be made starting at the top.

I hope our Tigers can win out and salvage the season at this point, but I am not holding my breath. I have also decided that the results of these games will not affect my mood, as I have way more important real life issues to deal with.

That happens when the thing that’s suppose to entertain you becomes not fun to watch

Life is hard enough sometimes with real life problems. There’s no reason to be upset and miserable over people playing a football game that you have zero control over.

Watch it for entertainment. Sometimes it’s entertaining. Sometimes it’s not. When the game ends, move on either way.

My fall months used to totally center around LSU Football games. Planning everything around watching and/or going. Then I realized it just isn’t that important. Decided to invest my time and money into things that have a greater chance of making me happy. When I can take my family of 4 on an entire vacation somewhere for what it would cost us to attend one night of football, you realize how screwed up it all is.

The total realization that this program will not succeed is real.....thats what you are feeling.

And it is a relief in many ways........

I’m with you ! I felt the same after the Bama beat down and it might be age but there is more to life than the result of 22, 20 year olds

Interesting.
Seems to have happened soon after the arrival of Woody.

Scott Woodward was named director of athletics at his alma mater in April of 2019.
