I think Big Cat from Barstool said it best, and I know he’s not the world’s greatest football mind but I think he’s got a pretty good pulse of the general public and how they feel.
Anyway, on their show this week he said “I want to like LSU and it sucks that I can’t because Brian Kelly is such a fricking loser.”
Man I felt that, I will never have anything other than complete love for LSU, but Kelly is an unlikable prick; and, oh by the way, he is a fricking loser.

He's a natural born Yankee arrogant a-hole and he's been unsuccessful, people have a hard time stomaching that.

I think people definitely dislike his personality and manner.
It's hard to point to more than 3 or 4 other coaches though and say they're definitely better, and make a legitimate argument for it.

But why? His sideline demeanor isn’t much different from other notable coaches.
I’m just curious if people don’t like him because they are told not to like him.
The BS about him being a Yankee? Les was a Michigan man. Saban went to school and coached up north, Dinardo went to ND and came from Brooklyn of all places.

Just seems like a con man. His motivational speeches seem so contrived and difficult for him.
I know he had success at Cincy and brought ND back from dead, so surely there’s some substance there, but I don’t see a bright football mind. I see a BSer. Someone who convinced some good people to work for him and rode their coattails and now they’re gone.
And I don’t like talking negative about the program.

He has won everywhere he’s been, leaving programs better than he found them. This and saying ND is glad to be rid of him is revisionist history. Dude brought ND as far as they can in this day and age and they ain’t winning shite anytime soon.
That said it might not be working out at this stop for him.
