I searched and couldn't find a thread. We finished this last night and couldn't believe the end. Allison Janney did a good job playing the vice president.

Love the love/hate relationship between Kate and Hal.

Can't wait for season 3!

We have two episodes left.

It's a bit far-fetched but it's fine for what it is.

Agreed! Unlike a lot of shows, you really have to pay attention to the dialog!

The scene where they are fiercely arguing and in the end Kate helps Hal with his clothes was a masterpiece depiction of a marriage.

The season was very enjoyable

They play the grey area very well in this show. Like once I found out (spoiler) was responsible for bad thing that happened I was livid. then when it was explained why is was done it made me change my opinion real quick. Takes a well written show to pull off shite like that.

Pretty sure the above is spoiler free. did I do it correctly?

I enjoyed it. A bit in your face girl power particularly VP but Hal and PM balance that out

Spoiler below:

Pretty ridiculous premise that the VP is that involved in global military strategy but its a TV show I guess.

Duuuuuuude!!! Couldn’t believe that ending. Was blown away and pissed off 30 seconds later when I saw it was the last episode!! I really like this show. Yeah they push the girl power a bit but sorry not sorry I think Keri Russel is smoke show. The crazy professor hot chick thing does it for me in this show. And Allison Janney is always money.

The North-South scene after she had just tried to give her the briefing in North-South was genius and take Janney to pull that off.

Obviously can’t wait for season 3 after that hanger. So many directions.

SPOILERS:

The elephant in the room is that they can't make Kate VP. The show has too many supporting characters that are in the UK so it wouldn't work unless they completely change the trajectory of the show. And obviously now Janney is going to be president.

Just finished the finale. I was ready to come on here and sing its praises…until the final minute of the season. I feel like it jumped the shark at that moment.

Well, just watched season 3. I really like this show even though it gets a bit unrealistic. They do love to end episodes on big moments.

The husband is so much more interesting. The main character always seems like she needs a shower.

Yeah, I would much rather watch a House of Cards type show featuring Hal.

Finished Season 3 last night . . . I think it was the best season so far.

And I agree, I get the “too busy for the pomp and circumstance” but no one that important is walking around that dishoveled all the time.

Still in the middle of season 3. Actually, just started the series a couple weeks ago. Maybe it's the compressed timeframe of binge watching, but I feel like I went from rooting for her character to being annoyed with her. She hates her husband for his antics, but in her few months as ambassador she is living the same life. She goes from not wanting to be VP to hating her husband again when he is brought into the fold. I realize they need drama, but it's a bit much.

And yes, anyone in that position would at least brush their hair.

This may be related to the third season seeming to revolve around her getting laid. I get making the characters human etc, but am I the only one who found this to be distracting?

Same. We discovered it last night. Was only able to get through one episode because the wife insisted we go back and watch the end of 2 again. I don't really blame her as they did not include a "Previously on The Diplomat" deal at the beginning of 3.

they've been pretty good at releasing one a year so it's a bit fresher.

It's rare, but I remember everything from the finale with scottish independence, the big map and talking about nuclear, and the sudden death.

not ususal for me, but it was a great finale.
