For everyone saying Sloan has to go, are you prepared to also lose Underwood?

It’s no secret Sloan has the been the main recruiter and reason Underwood committed to LSU. Michigan is putting up an NIL package that LSU can’t match but it still seems Underwood is staying with LSU. What if that’s because of Sloan and if we fire him would you be willing to lose Underwood too? I agree Sloan has been terrible and he’s not the OC we need but I would also hate to lose this kid because if we do we have to hope Collins or Hurley can develop or find a transfer. We know how easy players leave teams nowadays so just throwing that out there. Personally i’m more willing to keep Sloan at least one more year to get Underwood and start him as a freshman over having Nuss come back or maybe fire Sloan after Underwood signs and hopefully get a real OC that Underwood ends up loving. Love that Nuss stuck it out and had loyalty to LSU, It’s not seen anymore, but I love LSU football more and he just makes too many mistakes with the football.

Would hate to lose Underwood but if the only reason Sloan got the OC gig was to land a recruit, that’s piss poor leadership and staff management by BK.

Wholeheartedly agree. Sloan is frustrating but I am not losing Bryce because I’m mad that Sloan’s offense clearly doesn’t fit a statue qb like nuss. I love how nuss stuck it out but imo if he doesn’t declare for the draft we need to mutually part ways. Beyond his lack of mobility his turnovers are absolutely killer and won’t cut in this league

Understand the relationship there but we can't be held hostage and I doubt bryce is tying his future to CJS like that anyway.

Commit to the school not the coach

The program is bigger than one assistant and one recruit that hasn't stepped foot on campus yet. Sloan should have never been promoted and that's clear

If you were Underwood and saw that vanilla game plan, would it give you second thoughts? Let Sloan go back to coaching qb’s and get a real OF.

Agreed. Maybe we should have given the Amite barber the defensive coordinator position so we could get Devonta Smith

No, you demote him or fire him after national signing day. Best of both worlds.

Sloan is way over his head calling plays. He’s awful.

If you're Underwood, do you realistically want Sloan as an OC at this point?

Fuk Sloan. At this point we just tell underwood it's his job. Period. Then go hire a legit OC from NFL. We'll take the growing pains from a freshman qb sensation in the beginning of year. Then he starts going off every week.

It’s going to really bad when we keep Sloan then Underwood decides to take the cash and go to Michigan or somewhere else that’s offering more money and a better OC

And if Sloan is some savant, he wouldn't be here for Bryce's whole career anyway. At which time he can just jump in the portal.

Easy, as I posted in another thread. Make Sloan Co-OC with someone better. Won't matter anyway as its KeLLLy's offense, and we just need someone better at calling the plays that are in that offense. Let Sloan be Co-OC in title, but just the QB coach in actuality. Call him the passing game coordinator or some bullshite.

Do we really have Underwood now? If so, for how long?

You have to make decisions based on facts.
We know Sloan is not getting it done as OC and play caller. To be fair, he has an OL that is no physical and can't run block against SEC defense talent. The WR group is at best, average, this year. The RB group has young talent but need more help.

Underwood is an unknown quantity at this point and he may or may not end up at LSU. If he does, he may leave after one season and go home or to a higher bidder. You can't use a totally unknown quantity to make a decision.

What to know what placing a recruit over the program will do?

Take a look at Norman, OK.

It's not Sloan, its the stone footed statue running a read-option offense, that refuses to run with 20 yards of daylight in-front of him.

With this exact same offense and exact same playcalling, Underwood would look elite. We're probably undefeated as well. Kid is a generational can't miss prospect. You do EVERYTHING possible to keep him.

Like any other high school “commit” Underwood might decommit regardless of what the situation is at LSU. Happens every year with the 5 stars. Commitment isn’t commitment now.
