Is Matt Rife funny or just attractive to women?

Never seen him do prepared work that made me laugh and he uses plants in the audience to set up jokes. The one time he tried to be "edgy" it came across as try hard and alienated his female fanbase
He does have 9 million followers on IG though, so something is working. Is it the comedy or his looks?

You sound like a jealous little bitch for some reason

Comedy is subjective, but I've watched his stuff and he doesn't do it for me.
Not even his crowd work is funny, but I know a lot of women that love him.

This is the consensus from most people. He's not terrible but needs to develop his stand up more. Which he appears to be doing.

The fact that you're asking that question means you're visually unattractive. It's ok but good looking people don't need to ask this question.

Jealousy is an ugly cologne

He's OK but he's made a niche with middle aged women, and they soak their chair seeing him live. I think he's said before how he's bagged a ton of them, so they all think they have a shot.

He does really good crowd work. And yes, some women find him attractive.
I can't help but feel like he looks like when Gumball in The Amazing World of Gumball puts on his "pretty" face.

His "Milf and Cookies" bit was pretty funny.
He also has support from big celebs like Ryan Reynolds, so that helps.
When he strayed from his crowd work bit (which he's known for best) to doing a full on stand up routine, it bombed pretty bad.
He's not bad, tho. He's no Dave Chappelle. But he's not as bad as Trevor Noah, either.

I had never heard of him until two weeks ago, when YT recommended a compilation vid of his apparently famous audience interactions with the squeaky-boobed mom & her face-timed daughter.
It was funny. He is quick with ad libs and riffing/roasting with crowds/hecklers. Seems like that is his schtick, but it is kind of one-trick-pony. But I do prefer a comedy set, who also do some off-script ad libs. Then again, Don Rickles made a whole career of impromptu audience interactions, so there's an audience for that.

He's ok. Some of his stuff is good but some of it strictly appeals to horny wine moms (NTTAWWT)

hit a nerve.
I don't think he's terrible, just thought his attempt to get away from the crowd work bombed.

He’s got some funny reels. Tried watching his stand up (Netflix?) and didn’t make 7 minutes.

He’s no Brad Williams, but he’s funny.

There’s a whole story about he and another comic sitting down with 2 “execs” years ago who said they could make both comics famous if they’d blow them right then and there. Other comic said he left for the door and Matt had a dick in each hand when he looked back.
Dude is very good looking and every chick wants to bang him. He’s had work, but it works.

Occasionally, but typically not.

Never heard this before - source?
Even if he did use plants (which I doubt - I would guess at worse they feel out people in the audience for potential useful material), the goal of a comedian is to make people laugh, and he makes me laugh. Most comedy is scripted, so it’s no less funny even if he had plants in the audience.
The funniest ad-libber with audience interaction I’ve seen in person was Don Rickles, and I’ve even been the subject of his jabs at a Vegas show. But currently I think Rife is by far the best out there when it comes to audience interaction. Though as many have said, his straight standup act leaves a lot to be desired.

Any "comedian" that uses promo pictures like this:
Isnt going to be funny. It's about the women.
This is how a funny comedian takes a promo pic:
