Click (2006) underrated Sandler movie

It’s been forgotten but this is honestly one of the more tear jerking movies Sandler ever did.
Not saying the acting or script is Oscar worthy but you have to be a cold hearted sob to not get any feelings when he’s in the future in the office when his dad leaves.

is this the one where he is married to Kate Beckinsale in her prime?

One of those that I'll stop and watch if I see it while flipping through channels. Funny, well-paced, and hits like a truck in the 3rd act
Your father's stereo blows? That's too bad

This is the only movie produced by Sandler to be nominated for an Academy Award.

yeah it started out as a seemingly light-hearted comedy and then it got dark pretty quick.

Very depressing there toward the end.

I cant handle this movie anymore now that my father has passed. It flat out crushes me once he realizes how much time he lost.

It doesn't hit as hard as About Time, but it still hits hard. Both films take pretty emotional turns that weren't expected by the marketing of them.

Click isn't my favorite Sandler film, but it may be his best though. It is fricking excellent.
That's a pretty apt description. The father/son shite later in the movie is ROUGH. Man. It's been a while since I've seen it, so I may need to remedy that. But I remember the first time I saw it I was not expecting it to take such serious and dark turns.
But this movie affected me and sticks with me still to this day. There are times when I am doing something that I don't want to and I'm wishing I could just fastforward through whatever it is that I'm bored with. And then this movie will jump into my head and make me think about overusing the FFWD button and missing out on all sorts of shite with my wife/kids/family and then I sort of snap back to reality. It's silly, but that really happens to me here and there.
Man, don't watch About Time. I still haven't watched that since my son was born (he just made 5). I've been wanting to watch it lately but I know it will hit my like a ton of bricks now that I have a son of my own.
I imagine it will hit you harder since you lost your dad. That being said, if you haven't seen it, it is excellent as well. I always tell people who haven't seen it "If you ever loved your dad, you will love this movie."

Only saw the first 10 mins. Need to sit and watch it.
Is it depressing? Isn't it sort of a drama?

My personal time-travel fantasies evaporated once I had my first kid.

I still laugh thinking about him farting in Hasselhoff's face! I agree the dad stuff is pretty tough. Want to tear up? Pull up "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin.. It hits just as hard, even though it's a song.

my dad passed away in February rather suddenly. I don't think I can watch either movie again. At least for a while

The scene where he keeps rewatching his dad say "I love you son" but can't respond was the last time I cried watching a movie. I was 13, but still.
