Much more athletic this year, better outside shooters and when Shepherd gets back from injury should be pretty good overall

We should have great guard play this year. I worry about our depth in the post once we get to SEC play.

This team will be able to score and defend. I think this team can go far in the tournament.

The new guard Gilbert looked really good, guard play looked much improved, which has been a weakness

I’m sure we reach Elite Eight. Going further is the question mark.

Wish we had smith last year. We could’ve won the whole thing

Just to give you an idea of what Mulkey thinks about the current roster for week 1.

F Johnson - 34 minutes
S Day-Wilson - 33 minutes
A Morrow - 28 minutes
M Williams - 28 minutes
S Smith - 21 minutes
K Gilbert - 21 minutes
Wolfenbarger - 13 minutes
A Del Rosario - 9 minutes
J Richard - 8 minutes
A Bartlett - 4 minutes
Poa - not currently on the team
M Sheppard - currently injured. We need her back for backup PG
Besselman - no minutes

It looks like Gilbert will easily have the most minutes coming off the bench this year.

I'll try to catch it on YT later but I'm interested in what role Wolfenbarger played on O. Obviously she's historically been a guard but it seems reasonable that the big growth spurt might change her game.

She looked a little timid imo, but the talent is obviously there.

People need to remember Jersey has not played basketball in over a year and playing a completely new position

It’s gonna take time imo but she has the talent and physical tools. Come January I think she will be significantly improved

6 player rotation won’t cut it in sec play

I know some people tempered expectations from her coming last year as a 5-star but do we expect her to develop into a good player down the road? Is she basically all defense/rebounding and no offense in her time here?

Im just happy that we have 11 out of 12 players that can actually score. Our bench was terrible last year

Assuming Sheppard comes back healthy...I think we'll have a 9 man rotation.

Starting 5
Gilbert backup shooting guard
Sheppard backup PG
Del Rosario & Wolfenbarger backup post players

disappointed that Mikayla Williams still looks out of shape. She takes too many jumpers too. She should be at the FT line 8-10x per game.

Flau'jae looks like a machine. Morrow & Smith as well.

Was not overly impressed by the new PGs

The thing I liked about Day-Wilson is that she played 33 minutes, & had just 2 turnovers. She has a lot of experience & doesn't do stupid shite. She even dribbles out of double teams.

While Gilbert might not be the best on defense...she's athletic as hell, & she's going to put up a LOT of points.
